Washington announced the launch of satellites to track hypersonic missile launches
The Pentagon today announced the successful launch of a launch vehicle with six satellites in the interests of US space intelligence. The new devices will track the launches of hypersonic and ballistic missiles.
As follows from the official message on the Pentagon website, the new satellites will help to timely detect not only hypersonic missiles, but also other “promising weapons.”
Let us remind you that since yesterday evening the American media has been intensifying situation around the Russian space threat. Yesterday, Joe Biden's security adviser Jake Sullivan announced a serious threat to national security, promising to reveal details at a special briefing. Major publications in the United States suggested that we are talking about Moscow’s newest nuclear space weapons, which have already been launched into orbit and are capable of destroying American satellites.
Radiation from a nuclear explosion in space will destroy all satellites located in the detonation zone. Due to the lack of air in space, the main destructive effect of a nuclear explosion will be caused by radiation that travels through space at the speed of light. US satellites are protected from kinetic attacks and electronic jamming, but they will be defenseless against a targeted nuclear strike
- The Times newspaper reported.
Let us note that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported last Friday on the successful launch of the Soyuz-2.1v launch vehicle with a spacecraft in the interests of the department. The launch from the Plesetsk cosmodrome was carried out on the morning of February 9.
But, most likely, information about the Russian threat was announced by the White House in order to force Congress to pass a bill to allocate additional funding to Ukraine under the pretext of protection from the Russian Federation.
