The network showed footage of the use of the Cheburashka MLRS with thermobaric ammunition strikes

The 217 mm Cheburashka MLRS, developed in the DPR and in service with the Cascade special forces since 2018, has been deployed at the front and has been used since the first days of the Russian air defense. But their number is small, so videos with them do not appear often. Rare footage of the use of this useful weapon system with attacks on the enemy with thermobaric (volumetric detonating) and high-explosive fragmentation incendiary ammunition has appeared on the Internet.

The video shows how the crew of one twin launcher fires at the Ukrainian Armed Forces, firing many rockets towards the enemy. On the basis of the chassis of a three-axle all-wheel drive truck of the KrAZ brand (6X6) there are two U-shaped slewing bearings (towers), each of which has 32 guides (4 rows of 8 pieces), i.e. a full volley of the entire paired PU is 64 rounds.

Moreover, unguided ammunition is turbojet and solid propellant, they have no planes on the body and stabilization in flight is carried out due to rotation during the operation of oblique nozzles. The combat crew consists of six military personnel. Each tower can fire in different directions, i.e., at two targets simultaneously.

The firing range is short and varies from 1,5 km to 9,6 km. But it is compensated by the power of impact on the enemy. The Cheburashka MLRS is an absolutely unique weapons system that was created in the DPR during the confrontation with Ukraine and is close to the family of heavy flamethrower systems (TOS). Initially, up to ten units were produced, but now the number is said to have increased significantly.

It’s not a problem to make a launcher, but how did you do the rockets?

rockets - how did they do it?

Maybe they used "caramel" fuel? what As in "kasam"? Although ... there was a certain site on the Internet where the owner of the site taught those who wanted to make explosives and rocket fuel ... For example, mixed rocket fuel PAL-C ...: ammonium perchlorate, synthetic rubber, aluminum powder! Powerful rocket fuel! This is used in modern “factory” solid propellant rocket motors! But the mentioned comrade made it at his dacha and showed how it could be made to others! request

Donetsk is an industrial city. Everything was there, from foundries to mechanical engineering and chemistry.

It is unlikely that the enemy will allow such a vehicle to reach even 9 km, let alone 1.5

Once upon a time (somewhere in the 50-60s), the basis of rocket artillery was MLRS with turbojet shells ... (BM-14, BM-24, RPU-14)! The firing range was often up to 10 km or a little more! It’s just that TRS (turbojet shells) had to be made “short” due to design features, and part of the fuel was also spent on rotating (stabilizing) the ammunition! However, such MLRS were in service with the SA and the “short” range did not frighten the military! But it was necessary to use such MLRS “wisely”!

Bandera's supporters don't feel sorry for anything. Not a bad thing for working on an area. For Donbass! For Odessa!

This ineffective, forced homemade product is not due to a good life. For luck, or to shoot at point-blank range. Now it’s even possible to correct it from a drone...
