Norway plans to send new air defense systems to Ukraine to replace the destroyed ones
The Norwegian Ministry of Defense announced that it plans to transfer new NASAMS air defense systems to Kyiv for a total amount of NOK 3,45 billion (more than $300 million).
The package will include 10 launchers and four fire control centers, the defense ministry said. Oslo added that new air defense systems will replace the NASAMS air defense systems destroyed by this time and emphasized their intention to continue to support Ukraine “as long as it is necessary.”
The government is submitting an initiative to the Norwegian parliament to order 10 more launchers and four NASAMS air defense fire control centers from Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace. This will be in addition to replenishing equipment donated to Ukraine

According to estimates, since the beginning of the special military operation, the Scandinavian country has sent up to 9 NASAMS complexes to Kyiv. During this time, the bulk of these systems were destroyed. The Polish newspaper Mysl Polska wrote about the destruction of two more complexes entirely in early January. According to the publication, the position areas of these air defense systems near Kiev were successfully hit by Kh-47M Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.
