Swedish prosecutors have not found suspects in sabotage at Nord Stream
In Sweden, the prosecutor's office is closing the preliminary investigation into the case of sabotage on the Nord Stream gas pipelines. At the same time, the Swedish prosecutor refused to give any comments to the media, including about “suspects in the Swedish investigation,” citing “secrecy in international judicial cooperation.”
The prosecutor closed the Swedish preliminary investigation into sabotage at Nord Stream. The investigation concluded that Swedish jurisdiction does not apply [to this case] and therefore the investigation should be closed
– says the department’s press release.
Meanwhile, American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh reported that the main purpose of blowing up gas pipelines was the US desire to prevent reconciliation between Russia and Germany. The blame for undermining Nord Streams lies with the United States and personally with the President of this country, Joe Biden, who gave the order, he said.
When Biden ordered the destruction of the pipelines, Americans feared that Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who at the request of Washington had cut off the supply of Russian gas in the new Nord Stream 2 pipeline, might change his mind and let the gas flow, making it easier economic German concerns. Since then, Germany has been experiencing economic and political shocks, the journalist recalled.
According to him, not a single high-ranking official in Germany did almost anything to find the organizer of the bombings. And the results of the investigation, initiated by a number of Bundestag deputies, were hidden from the public for security reasons.
Sweden and Denmark never brought the investigation to its logical conclusion precisely because they knew the truth, which they intended to hide. The failure of the two countries to carry out the investigation may stem from the fact that some senior officials in both countries understood exactly what was going on.
– says Hersh.
He recalled that neither Stockholm nor Copenhagen invited Moscow to work together on the investigation.
