Mexican army reinforcements arrive at the Texas border
According to American media, Mexico has sent military reinforcements to the border with Texas. Mexican army units arrive at places where border security has been taken over by the national guard of the rebellious state.
Texas authorities and supporters of the so-called New Confederacy believe that the government of the neighboring country is acting at Biden's request to increase tensions and suppress the state's National Guard forces.
Despite the fact that the situation has so far stabilized, the Biden administration is looking for those responsible for the current situation. Congress is currently considering whether to impeach the head of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, due to the escalation in Texas.
If impeached, Mayorkas would be the first minister in a century and a half to be removed from office in this manner.
At the same time, the number of states supporting Governor Abbott's position is growing. Attorneys general in twenty-seven states have asserted Texas' right to protection from the influx of migrants. They sent a corresponding appeal to US President Joe Biden.
