Russian Navy Takes Spot on US Navy in Black Sea

The US plans to increase its military presence in the Black Sea are a cause for concern and will lead to adequate retaliatory measures on the part of Russia.

The head of the State Duma’s defense committee, Vladimir Shamanov, said that Moscow was not going to sit idly by and intended to oppose Washington’s plans in case of an attempt to implement them.

After numerous statements by U.S. Special Representative in Ukraine Kurt Walker about the intentions of the North Atlantic Alliance to increase the number of ships in the immediate vicinity of the Russian coast, the anxiety of the Russian leadership is well-founded and dictates the need to strengthen its own forces and defenses.

According to Shamanov, Russia is ready to "concentrate and target strike means" to destroy these groups. Also, the head of the committee said:

Our infrastructure allows us not only to adequately, but also to respond more strictly to their provocative actions. We will do it. We will no longer look at their irresponsible antics

Recall that in addition to the U.S. Navy ships, which lasted up to 120 days instead of 80 agreed stays in the Black Sea, US drones and reconnaissance planes regularly fly over the southern borders of Russia - Crimea, Kuban and the Kerch Strait.
