T-72B3M tanks receive new standard large-area visors
The Russian military has increased the safety of the T-72B3M tank by equipping it with a full-projection two-segment anti-cumulative screen that serves as protection for the turret and engine compartment.
The “visor” installed on the tank protects machinery from rocket-propelled grenades with monoblock cumulative warheads PG-7VL dropped from drones and other ammunition. At the same time, such an installation does not protect the tank from the BGM-71F ATGM of the TOW-2B anti-tank complexes with warheads of the “shock core” type.
A tank with protection was spotted in the rear areas in the Ugledar direction, where it was being tested as part of a motorized rifle unit of the Vostok group.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are experiencing difficulties using drones on the front line, since in winter, UAVs consume electricity faster and the camera fogs up. In addition, short daylight hours have a negative impact on the operation of drones.
An expert on the use of military drones, James Patton Rogers, said that to increase the effectiveness of drones at night and in winter, the Armed Forces of Ukraine should modernize existing equipment and use more expensive aircraft.
Earlier, Ivan Stupak, Advisor to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, noted that every second household in Ukraine should start producing inexpensive FPV drones to overcome the shortage of weapons, from which the Armed Forces of Ukraine are severely suffering.
