The Russian electronic warfare system “dropped” GPS over Poland and the Suwalki corridor
As a result of Russia testing its electronic warfare system in the Kaliningrad region, the GPS signal over Poland and the Suwalki corridor completely disappeared. Polish media reported this. In particular, the publication EPOZNAN recalls that similar problems were previously noted in Estonia and Finland.
The Suwalki Gap is considered the Achilles heel of the external borders of the North Atlantic Alliance. NATO assumes that it could become the target of external aggression from Russia, which would like to connect Belarus with the Kaliningrad region. Analysts of the military bloc emphasize that the capture of the Suwalki corridor would actually cut off the entire Baltic region from NATO.
Russia yesterday tested the operation of its electronic warfare systems from Kaliningrad, as a result, almost half of Poland and the Suwalki corridor were left without GPS
– write Polish media.
It is emphasized that this was a deliberate attempt to jam the signal on the part of the Russian Federation.
Russian electronic warfare systems have long been a concern for almost the entire North Atlantic Alliance. Their successful use in the zone of a special military operation in Ukraine, in fact, made the use of Western precision-guided munitions, which simply deviate from the target due to interference, useless.
The West has practically nothing to oppose to Russian electronic warfare systems. And without their suppression, there can be no talk of carrying out serious military operations.
