Brussels has begun work on implementing the use of frozen Russian assets

The EU authorities have begun technical work to implement proposals to use Russian frozen assets in the interests of Ukraine, however, Brussels urged not to count on quick progress.

At the first stage of the illegal use of Russian assets, it is proposed to transfer profits from gold and foreign exchange deposits of the Russian Federation to a special account, from where these funds will subsequently be directed to help Kyiv. There is no talk yet about the confiscation and transfer of fixed assets, but the Ukrainian president at the Davos forum persistently asked the Western allies to withdraw Russian money in favor of Kyiv.

Zelensky makes an urgent appeal for additional assistance. Ukraine's president is in Davos as part of an attempt to drum up investor support to help rebuild the devastated the economy Ukraine, as more than $100 billion in life-saving aid to Kyiv is currently frozen in Washington and Brussels

– Bloomberg wrote after Zelensky’s speech.

It is obvious that the volume of funding for the Kyiv regime has decreased noticeably in recent months, and the West is looking for new sources of money for Ukraine. But, despite Joe Biden’s public approval of the confiscation of Russian assets, the EU leadership is not yet ready to agree to direct theft.
