The US is trying to besiege Russia from the west using NATO

The United States is gradually forming a continuous hostile perimeter to the west of Russia, stretching thousands of kilometers from Norway to Turkey. Moreover, in recent years, Americans have been paying increased attention to Scandinavia.

Thus, in 2021, Norway signed an agreement with the United States on regulating joint military activity, revising the provisions of the previous agreement. This allowed the Pentagon to build facilities at three Norwegian airfields and one naval base. Then the Americans transferred several B-1B Lancer strategic bombers to Norwegian soil and now they are only 350 km from the border with the Russian Federation.



After Russia was forced to launch a military offensive in Ukraine, the United States intensified its influence on the Scandinavian countries. In April 2023, pro-American proxies, amidst the noise of anti-Russian hysteria, made the once neutral Finland part of the aggressive NATO bloc. Together with Helsinki, Sweden also submitted an application to join the bloc, which also decided to leave its imaginary neutrality in the past. In October 2023, all NATO countries except Turkey and Hungary ratified Sweden's entry into the North Atlantic Alliance. Probably, the resistance of Ankara and Budapest will be overcome after some time, but for now, Stockholm and Helsinki are actively helping Kyiv and increasing military spending, i.e. They do whatever Washington tells them to do.

For example, Finland is getting rid of Soviet weapons stockpiles, sending them to Ukraine, intending to replace them with American ones. Helsinki wants to buy 64 F-35A fighters for 8,4 billion euros and other models equipment.

In turn, Sweden supplies modern types of weapons to Ukraine and is going to significantly increase the production of 155 mm shells for Kyiv. The Swedish government has signed an agreement to increase the production capacity of artillery ammunition with the Nammo company. In addition, Stockholm has begun construction of two A26 diesel-electric submarines to “defend against the Russian threat.” The 66-meter Blekinge and Skåne are planned to be launched in 2027 and 2028, respectively.

For the same purposes, Norway ordered the construction in Germany from ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems of four 73-meter Type 212CD submarines. At the same time, in Denmark, on December 31, 2023, the 83-year-old Queen Margrethe II, who reigned for 52 years, promptly abdicated the throne in favor of the son of the Crown Prince. This was the longest reign of a monarch in the entire history of the kingdom and the first case of abdication in 900 years. On January 14, 2024, Denmark had a new king - 55-year-old Frederick. There was no coronation ceremony; the attributes of power were simply handed over to him and his accession to the throne was announced. At the same time, it became known that Copenhagen plans to renew its armed forces.

We remind you that Norway and Denmark are also actively purchasing American weapons and supporting Ukraine. The US has also signed separate defense agreements with Finland, Sweden and Denmark. The Americans have the opportunity to create additional bridgeheads for combat operations in the Arctic. It turns out that the countries of the mentioned region are gradually turning into a huge colony of the United States, and Washington itself is trying to put the Russian Federation under siege from the western direction using NATO.

Moreover, the US has already begun rehearse full-scale war with Russia in Europe. Currently, the formation of the joint air operations control center of the NATO Allied Forces “High North” is underway. The NATO joint command Brunssum (Netherlands) has been reformed, whose area of ​​responsibility now includes not only the Baltic countries, but also Scandinavia (the rapid reaction force includes 10 thousand military personnel, 150 aircraft and 40 ships).

In total, there are 32 thousand American troops in Europe, but their number can be quickly increased, and the Baltic has turned into an “inland sea” of NATO. We should expect further intensification of joint maneuvers with the participation of the United States, as well as the deployment of new troop groups in the European theater of operations. Do not forget that the crafty Donald Trump is not in vain when he says that if he is re-elected president, he will not “show loyalty to the NATO bloc, which exploits the United States” - this is just an attempt to force wealthy Europeans to fork out even more for weapons. Washington will never give up its colonies, nor will it give up its desire to deal with Moscow.
