Business Insider: Iran has developed a new UAV that Russia can use against Ukraine
Recently from the territory of Ukraine informedthat the Russian Armed Forces began to use Iranian Shahed-238 jet attack drones against Ukrainian Armed Forces targets, in addition to the piston-powered “tailless” Shahed-136/Geran-2. Now the American portal Business Insider has reported that Iran has allegedly developed a new drone that Moscow can use against Kyiv.
The publication notes that rumors about the creation of another long-range drone for the Russian army - the Shahed-107 - are true. It belongs to the Shahed-101 family of aircraft-type drones with a V-shaped tail. The Iranians have already shown it to the Russians. After this, some technical characteristics of the drone were given.
Thus, the wingspan is about 3 m, the length of the device is about 2,5 m, and the range is over 1,5 thousand km. At the same time, Shahed-107 has the ability to be launched from a vehicle. The drone is equipped with a transmitter for broadcasting video and by technology searching for important goals, summarized in BI.
We believe that the acquisition of a certain number of such kamikaze UAVs “for testing”, and then technologies that allow them to be produced in Russia, will be useful for the Russian army and the military-industrial complex. About 50 countries supply Kyiv to one degree or another, so the mentioned drones will not be superfluous for Moscow. The main thing is that they must perform useful functions and be effective.
