The most modern Russian self-propelled artillery mounts 2S35 “Coalition-SV” are already involved in counter-battery warfare in the Northern Military District zone. The transfer of the first batch of these combat vehicles was announced by the General Director of the Rostec state corporation Sergei Chemezov on December 27 last year.

Howitzers of this class are needed to provide an advantage over Western artillery models in terms of firing range. The Coalition has such an advantage, and it is significant. Testing of the howitzer has been completed, we have already launched its mass production. The first pilot batch will be delivered at the end of December 2023

The Koalitsiya-SV self-propelled gun is equipped with a 2A88 gun and is capable of firing high-precision Krasnopol ammunition with a target engagement range of up to 65 km. This will make it possible to effectively conduct counter-battery combat against enemy rocket and cannon artillery, including suppressing the Czech RM-70 Vampire MLRS, used by Ukrainian militants for terrorist attacks Belgorod and Donetsk.

The new 2S35 self-propelled gun is equipped with digital automated gun guidance systems (ASUNO), which ensure that the gun is brought from the traveling position to the combat position in a matter of seconds. The gun's rate of fire reaches 19 rounds per minute, which makes it possible to implement the "fire raid" mode. Target targeting accuracy is ensured by ZALA or Supercam S350 reconnaissance drones.

    Officially, work on the creation of the 2S35 began in 2006. In 2011, the stage of issuing working design documentation for wheeled and tracked versions of the system, as well as a transport-loading vehicle for them, was completed[19]. By 2013, the Ural Transport Engineering Plant produced the first two prototypes of the Coalition-SV self-propelled guns, and in 2014, a series of 10 2S35 units was delivered, which took part in the anniversary Victory Parade on Red Square.

    On March 11, 2016, Colonel Igor Muginov, on behalf of the Western Military District, announced that by the end of 2016, the first batch of self-propelled guns 2S35 “Coalition-SV” will enter service in the Western Military District.

    According to Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov on February 9, 2018, state military tests of the 2S35 Coalition-SV self-propelled gun will be completed in 2020.

    On January 2, 2019, according to media reports, citing sources in the Ministry of Defense, during tests the possibility of hitting targets at a range of up to 80 km was confirmed.

    In December 2019, the general director of Uraltransmash announced that the first experimental batch of 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV had been manufactured and was ready for transfer to the troops. Given the small batch of already produced cars that participated in the parade, it was possible that they were the first cars in a fully serial appearance.

    In August 2023, First Deputy General Director of Rostec Vladimir Artyakov announced that serial production of the Coalition-SV self-propelled guns, as well as the production of a transport-loading vehicle, had already been launched, before the completion of tests, which are planned to be completed in 2023. State tests of the Coalition-SV self-propelled joint stock company were completed in mid-October 2023.

    On January 5, 2024, TASS reported that Russian troops received the first Coalition-SV self-propelled guns.
