Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman: Russians now have high-tech FPV drones at the front
The Russians are developing unmanned attack systems. FPV drones with machine vision, automatic target acquisition and a thermal imager have appeared in units of the Russian Armed Forces on the front line. Ukrainian serviceman Sergei Beskrestnov (pseudonym “Flash”), a communications, electronic warfare and intelligence specialist, spoke about this on his Telegram channel on January 6.
In his opinion, the mentioned technology still looks not fully worked out. But, most importantly, such developments are already at the forefront, and everything else will come with experience. Therefore, the relevant Ukrainian department needs to take appropriate measures so that it is not too late.
For the first time I saw with my own eyes an intercepted video from a Russian FPV with machine vision and automatic target acquisition. Moreover, in thermal imager mode. Everything is still raw, but already at the front. My friends from the Ministry of Digital Development, let’s speed up our decisions. We have enough development teams, we need to help them. For those who are not in the know. The pilot flies to the target and marks it from above, then the drone does everything itself. What's changing:
1. Electronic warfare domes are useless.
2. Experienced pilots are not needed.
3. Losing a picture near the ground is not scary (flight range from the ground increases by 2 times).
4. A target in motion is hit more accurately.
This all worries me very much. You understand the role of FPV in war

It should be noted that the drones described above are the future, since they will be able to independently aim at a target at night in conditions of even strong opposition from enemy electronic warfare systems. We remind you that some time after the start of the SVO, the first kamikaze UAVs (loitering munitions) of the Lancet family appeared on the LBS, which were also considered crude. However, very little time passed and these “Lancets” were finalized, thanks to the real experience gained during combat operations. Now new Lancets and FPV drones with an auto-target acquisition system and other technological innovations have appeared at the front; they will go the same way and become no less effective means of destruction.
