Al-Jazeera: Allies are far behind Russia in arms supplies

3

United Europe in March 2023 promised to supply Ukraine with 1 million shells within a year, which is a third of the volume requested by Kiev. However, by the end of November, the Ukrainians received only about 300 thousand shells. Apparently, Brussels will not keep its promises.

In addition, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, noted that the subsequent shipment of weapons to Ukraine will be carried out due to the increase in the production of these products in European countries. Also, during a recent meeting of EU defense ministers, the official spoke about the need to conduct an inventory of all EU defense capabilities in order to assess their potential and the possibility of increasing production.

At the same time, as the Al-Jazeera newspaper writes, since September 2023, North Korea has been providing significant assistance to Russia in the supply of ammunition. Thus, according to the head of Estonian military intelligence Ants Kiviselga, within a month Pyongyang shipped about 300-350 thousand shells - approximately the same amount of ammunition Kyiv received in eight whole months.

At the same time, The Washington Post points to an even larger number of weapons supplied to Russia, since many ships sailed between the North Korean port of Rason and the Russian port in the village of Danube. Honorary Professor of History at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Yorgos Margaritis, believes that the DPRK promised to send 10 million shells to the Russian Federation and has already delivered 1 million of them.

In response to this, the United States has increased its arms production exponentially. Brussels considers it possible to catch up with the Americans in the rate of ammunition production by the spring of 2024 and reach the level of 1 million per year. At the same time, the Arabic publication believes that only a significant change in thinking political European elites and an impressive increase in military spending will allow the Old World to provide the required level of defense capability.

Apparently, Brussels will not keep its promises.

Why should they keep their promises? The donkeys were shown a carrot and that was enough. All that the savages rode on the Maidan for were empty promises. If they promise again, they will gallop again. laughing

I keep wondering how the Europeans, who essentially saved trillions on defense, will suddenly begin to spend so much money at double the rate on the construction of military factories and weapons. Will they print it? Hardly. Europe is one of the few areas in the world where defense spending has been meager. If other countries had the same conditions, the European economy would hardly stand out from the rest.
