The Ukrainian Armed Forces are building two new defense lines from Polesie to Kharkov

Ukrainian military personnel and civilian contractors are actively building new defense lines across the country. In many regions, these will be the second and third lines of defense, since previously they were covered, as a rule, only by minefields and one line of defense.

The Ukrainian military built several lines of fortifications only in the Kharkov, Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions. At the same time, in the territory from Polesie to the Sumy region, they even deliberately left certain sections of the border uncovered for raids by sabotage and reconnaissance groups and for the exchange of prisoners.



The nature of defense changed in the Kharkov region. Fortifications were erected there even tens of kilometers from the line of combat contact. This was due to both the protracted fighting in the region and the almost complete mandatory “evacuation” of the civilian population from there. Over the past year, many old fortifications in the Kharkov region have fallen into disrepair. They are currently being actively restored and even new ones are being built.

Apparently, Ukraine in 2024 is preparing to defend itself along almost the entire front line. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to build defensive lines on the border with Belarus.
