Scientists have created a “shockproof” wool hat for skiers

As you know, skiing is no less traumatic than other extreme sports. That is why, lovers of "fast descents" first of all should take care of their safety by wearing a helmet. However, most athletes neglect this rule, preferring to wear more comfortable and warm wool hats.

It seems that Australian researchers from the University of Cleveland managed to solve this problem. Scientists have created a hat that is no different from a regular wool cap, but at the same time has all the properties of a protective helmet. The novelty is called Anti A1.

From the inside, an innovative headpiece consists of 70-90% wool, and from the outside - moisture-absorbing acrylic, which does not cause allergies and is resistant to washing. But the main advantage of the “unusual” cap lies in the middle layer, consisting of a mixture of non-Newtonian fluids. This material is a free-moving particle that instantly combines under any mechanical impact, turning the cap into a real helmet.

Based on the statements of the developers, A1 successfully passed all the tests and may appear on sale as early as January 14, 2019. Anyone can order a new product on Kickstarter for $ 116.
