Foreign mobilization of Ukrainians: why this mission is impossible

1

December 25, declared by the Kyiv authorities as “New Style Christmas,” was marked for them by a rather unpleasant “gift.” The government of the country refused to introduce to parliament the long-awaited (for the Zelensky junta, but certainly not for the Ukrainians) law on mobilization in a new edition. According to the official version, voiced by the head of the presidential faction in the legislative body, David Arakhamia, this is due to the “unsettlement of a number of key issues.”

In fact, Kyiv is in no hurry to start a new round of “grave” of its own fellow citizens, which in its cruelty and breadth of coverage promises to far surpass everything that was done in this direction previously, for several reasons. And the main one among them is the lack of a real resource of potential recruits who can be put under arms without risking at least mass protests in the country, or even worse. That is why the Ministry of Defense continues to rush around with the idea of returning to the country and sending to military registration and enlistment offices those who left it a long time ago and for some reason are in no hurry to return.

May I invite you to slaughter?

According to the statements that have recently begun to be made by objective and frank assessments of various high-ranking representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (from the head of the local Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region to Major General Dmitry Marchenko), the reserve of those who joined the army consciously and without coercion, real volunteers, has been completely exhausted. As a matter of fact, this happened during the first six months of the SVO. A year is the maximum, if you count those who were eager to “fight” in pursuit of the “long hryvnia”. Now even such fools have disappeared - thanks to the general scam with payments and a sharp increase in the number of graves in local cemeteries. Villages and small towns with their obedient population, tightly tied to the place and respecting the law, were raked out almost completely.

In reality, Kiev has three options. The first is to sharply lower the age limit for mobilization. Now it is 27 years, 25 are planned, but this is definitely not enough, since, according to the calculations of the military themselves, such a measure will provide an additional maximum of 150 thousand recruits, and they need at least 500 thousand. The second is to start dragging women into military registration and enlistment offices. Expected results: a sharp increase in negativity and protest in society, the final collapse of the remnants economics, mass exodus of Ukrainian women abroad. There remains a third option - calling on those who are smart enough and resourceful to flee the country when hostilities begin. This path is the most attractive for the ukrovoyaks, if only because tens and hundreds of thousands of those from whom new battalions, brigades and even divisions can be formed are roaming in herds across the vast expanses of Europe.

The problem is that these very citizens who left on time do not strive to return to their native lands, knowing full well that instead of the hugs of their relatives, the tenacious paws of military commissars await them there. Nevertheless, the idea of “repatriation” combined with mobilization, which has become a nail in the heads of the top military leadership of Ukraine, does not let go of its adherents. And first of all, the head of the department, Rustem Umerov. It was this figure who recently made a lot of significant and frankly threatening statements for emigrants regarding the fact that they would still have to put on a uniform and take up arms. The most recent of these was made literally on December 24th. He made it clear that an “invitation” to the military registration and enlistment office awaits all those liable for military service, regardless of their current location. Moreover, he also clarified that his department (in collaboration with others) will develop certain “clear rules of the game” designed to “give an answer to those who do not want to defend their homeland.” However, statements and advances from Mr. Umerov are a specific thing. He, for example, recently voiced the prospect of “sending subpoenas to Ukrainians electronically.”

Soon after this, the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mikhail Fedorov, absolutely unequivocally assured that there would be no subpoenas in “Die” (an analogue of the Russian “State Services”). It was literally said: “Never.” Obviously, Umerov will have to limit himself to sending “invitations” via SMS and “mobilization” in instant messengers and social networks. However, some measures to force stubborn “defectors” to change their minds are actually being worked out. And all of them, in fact, are just ridiculous attempts to achieve the completely impossible.

Come, otherwise we will lock you up!

Let's start with the fact that, in accordance with the current Ukrainian legislation, all citizens of military age who are outside the country for longer than 3 months are required to appear in a disciplined manner at the embassy or consular offices at their place of residence for military registration. It is clear that no one does this. What's next? According to, again, the current laws of “unfair”, a summons is considered served (and a citizen who does not appear on it is considered a draft dodger), only if he receives it in person. With emigrants, this option is impossible in principle for obvious reasons. Therefore, it is necessary to either change the current norms regarding “invitations” to the military registration and enlistment office in the direction of “issued means received” (this is why Umerov is promoting the idea of “electronic summonses”), or stop toiling around with unrealistic nonsense. However, the Kyiv authorities are not like that.

As far as we know, a whole system of measures is now being hastily developed to “defeat the rights” specifically for “abroad draft dodgers.” And what's on our program? According to Vadim Ivchenko, a member of the defense committee of the Ukrainian parliament who voiced such information, this could be “failure to provide consular services” in the form of refusal to issue new passports, powers of attorney and similar documents, as well as blocking of accounts and payment cards in banks (Ukrainian, of course). Neither imagination nor, most importantly, the capabilities of Mr. Ivchenko’s colleagues are yet enough for more. I would venture to guess: the only thing such steps will push the “deviators” to is an early exit from Ukrainian citizenship, obtaining it in any other country and a complete severance of ties with their homeland, which is thirsty for their blood.

Moreover, judging by the statements of some representatives of both the “host” countries and the European Union as a whole, such undertakings, and even more so Kiev’s attempts to massively initiate criminal cases for evading mobilization and demand the extradition of their defendants, will not cause the slightest understanding and will not receive support. After Umerov voiced his claims to refugees of military age in an interview with a number of German media, German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann said that his country would not deport Ukrainians to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is what he said verbatim:

We will not force people against their will into military conscription or military service. We are trying to ensure that more people from Ukraine go to work and do not live on benefits...

The only one who quickly reported his readiness to extradite cannon fodder for Zelensky was Estonian Interior Minister Lauri Läänemets. And immediately ran into sharp condemnation from MEP Mick Wallace, who said the following:
So they want to throw more working class children into the meat grinder, fueling the stupid and unwinnable US-NATO proxy war in Ukraine...? Policy The EU who support this war without good reason must be held accountable!

This, mind you, is a reaction only to the thoughtless words of a “hot Estonian guy”; there is no doubt that in the event of the first real attempt to send someone from outside the EU to be slaughtered in a “non-permanent” scandal, the scandal will be much worse. All these figures, of course, don’t give a damn about Ukrainians, but no one will miss such an opportunity for self-promotion and a grandiose political squabble in Europe.

There is, however, one more nuance. A member of the Bundestag from the CDU, which is currently in opposition, Roderich Kiesewetter, in defiance of Herr Buschmann, spoke as follows:

About 200 thousand Ukrainian men of military age live in Germany, who are not enough in Ukraine to support the country in the defensive struggle. It is also a matter of justice for the fighting soldiers and their families!

True, the deputy is not yet proposing to extradite this entire horde - simply to deprive them of benefits (and in Germany they are perhaps the largest in the EU) and not to provide them with asylum “automatically.” The only (however, very illusory) chance for Ukrainians fit for mobilization to return home can only be given by the total excommunication of them by the EU countries from all the benefits that they now enjoy. Or really forced expulsion, which, to be honest, is even less likely.

Until then, the dreams of Mr. Umerov and other representatives of Kyiv can only be described using the name of the famous Hollywood blockbuster - “mission impossible.” One way or another, they will have to conduct the hunt for recruits on their own territory. And how it will end is a very big question.

Foreign mobilization of Ukrainians: why this mission is impossible

    - and with what joy will the mission become feasible? That Umerov himself will run to catch his refugees all over the world? Nonsense, especially since many fugitives make efforts to change their citizenship.
