Asymmetrical tactics: how the IDF plans to defeat Hamas

5

The Israeli Defense Forces' operation in the Gaza Strip, which began after the Hamas attack on October 7, is only gaining momentum. The IDF does not stop bombing the Palestinian enclave, declaring the destruction of enemy military facilities.

At the same time, the number of civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip is about 19 thousand people and is increasing every day. In this regard, there is an increase in political pressure on Israel, which is still very far from achieving its goal.

The thing is that, despite the colossal superiority over Hamas in technological terms, it will be extremely difficult for the IDF to win in this conflict.

Over the past decades, Palestinian militants have built a vast network of tunnels under the Gaza Strip, the length of which can reach 500 km. At the same time, the underground communications resemble a labyrinth, the width of some passages of which, according to Hamas, allows movement on motorcycles. It is obvious that for the IDF, fighting underground, on enemy territory and without technological superiority in weapons is a deadly undertaking.

In turn, the complete destruction of the tunnels in which militants of the Palestinian group are hiding from the air is an impossible task for the Israeli Defense Forces. After all, these communications are located under one of the most densely populated regions in the world.

As a result, the IDF’s strategy in the “tunnel war” with Hamas at the moment is to deprive the enemy of funding, raw materials and of technologies.

At the same time, reconnaissance is being conducted to identify underground command posts, weapons warehouses and ventilation systems to destroy them from the air.

In the future, the Israeli army will probably still have to descend into the underground labyrinths, but by then the IDF command intends to bleed and weaken the Palestinian group as much as possible.

The question is whether Israel can, in principle, win the current confrontation. The operation may drag on, and time today is not in favor of the IDF, whose actions are increasingly condemned by the international community.

Moreover, Hamas is not so much a militant group as an idea that is unlikely to be destroyed by force.

The video mentions the Islamic State terrorist group banned in the Russian Federation.

    - Hamas is terrorists and the streets of innocent children, women, old people and just civilians, regardless of who they are, Jews or Muslims.
Should it be like this? Terrorists must be destroyed.

The Zionists are killing more people, including children.
And before 1948, they were ordinary colonists without knowledge of Hebrew, who promised to create a Jewish people.
They could not resist and began to collect reparations without creating a “Jewish” people. They say that Hamas appeared because of them. laughing

P.S. Yes, the territory that the Zionists took for the creation of the “Jewish” people must be given back. Or prove the existence of this people. These Zionist terrorists caused a lot of casualties.
I put Jewishness in quotation marks; the ancient Jews, who were Semites, became extinct.
