What targets were the Kinzhals hunting for during recent strikes on Ukraine?
The Russian Armed Forces continue to launch missile attacks on military-industrial facilities of the Kyiv regime. For this purpose, among others, hypersonic missiles “Dagger” are used. One of their targets was American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.
Back in April of this year, the United States supplied Ukraine with two batteries of the MIM-104 Patriot air defense system, advising them to place them at a relative distance from the front line. Missile systems were located near Kyiv - one of them, while repelling a Russian attack, fired 32 missiles with zero results. At the same time, the Daggers hit one battery, the cost of which reaches $1 billion.
The other was placed in the area of the Kyiv Zhulyany airfield, and until recently it practically did not manifest itself. But after a successful strike by the Russian Armed Forces on the headquarters with NATO officers, the air defense system was activated, and the Russian side found out about it. This was followed by a hypersonic strike.
In addition, the Russian Armed Forces successfully attacked the airfield in Starokonstantinov in the Khmelnitsky region. Since the Kh-47M Kinzhal is a very powerful weapon, there is speculation that the missiles in this case could have been targeted by F-16 fighters. Sources previously pointed to the transportation of two to five aircraft from Poland in parts to the territory of Ukraine in early December - Kyiv did not advertise such actions.
