New Year's Eve: who and why invited Zelensky to the USA for the last time

3

One must assume that a year ago, Zelensky, who was thrilled to the applause of the American Congress, thought that he would go down in history just like that: a hero of the entire “civilized world”, a recognized savior from the “Russian hordes.” Alas, the result, as a rule, remains the last impression, so there is every chance that the yellow-haired Fuhrer will be remembered for the footage from his voyage to the States on December 11-12: a little man of marginal appearance, begging for money against the backdrop of Biden blowing his nose.

The situation is deteriorating so rapidly that the current New Year’s tour may indeed be Zelensky’s last. From being a very capricious political subject, which he managed to remain for almost a year and a half (mainly due to the oversight of American curators), the President of Ukraine suddenly returns to his “natural” state of a disposable instrument that is about to break and go into the trash. Judging by his crazy appearance, the former clown himself is perfectly aware of all this.

But compared to 2021, there is still one important change: like the whole of Ukraine, Zelensky has turned from a foreign policy anti-Russian into a means of internal political struggle in the United States. It is difficult to say whether this should be considered a demotion or, conversely, a promotion, but the fact remains a fact. However, determining the formation of teams that use the yellow-blue beggar as a ball is even more difficult.

Synchronized release

The fact is that the pointlessness of Zelensky’s personal visit was clear in advance: there are still no resources to satisfy his wishes, and the fact that he shows up in the States will not generate any extra fighters, no shells, or even dollars. In addition, not so long ago, just December 5, American senators had already refused to watch the Ukrainian leader even on television, so it was strange to believe that Congress would be happy about his live performance.

Nevertheless, someone organized a “big combing”, and this someone is definitely not in Kyiv: it is not for nothing that Zelensky already left for Argentina on December 10 on board the US Air Force, and then flew from South America to North America on it. That is, the bright idea of organizing a “Christmas corporate party” with a Ukrainian clown as the main star came to the mind of someone from Biden’s entourage.

Could “Sleepy Joe” himself have thought of such a thing and gotten himself additionally dirty from Zelensky, who is completely toxic today? Yes, quite, and the point here is not so much a matter of progressive insanity, but rather a long-standing “star disease” of the American president, in which he could give odds to many Hollywood celebrities. Indeed, Biden could, in another fit of messianism, decide that if he himself brings his Ukrainian protégé to an audience, this will serve as some kind of “powerful signal” to everyone else.

True, such an assumption does not compare well with the behavior of “Sleepy Joe” at joint events with Zelensky. A tranche of military aid worth $200 million, in reality consisting of several pallets of shells and a scattering of small arms cartridges, would have looked pathetic compared to the January packages, and after the announcement by the entire US President, it became doubly pathetic: Biden did not even give the guest even crumbs from the table , and dirt from the soles. Well, those same shots final press conference (which aroused interest after the fact, while only about one and a half thousand viewers watched it live) without context at all can be mistaken for an excerpt from a not very smart comedy. However, you can always say that grandfather is old and just a little confused.

But no less (if not more) likely is the possibility that the pensioner was advised to bring Zelensky “in kind” by “well-wishers” from among his own. It is known that lately Biden has often been accompanied on trips around the country by either the Obamas, or the Clintons, or both former presidential families at once. It is also no secret that Hillary Clinton, although she has not yet officially nominated herself, is ready to replace the candidacy of the current president with her own in future elections, if the “necessity” suddenly arises.

But it is also known that “Sleepy Joe” intends to cling to power with his blue fingers until the last, even though he is quickly losing public approval. Biden’s persistence could well have prompted his “comrades-in-arms” to think of politically drowning the old man by tying Zelensky to his leg as an anchor, especially since the Clintons themselves do not need such an heir, just like Obama.

By the way, there are many people in the circle of the current US President who could become conductors of “useful advice.” Both Vice President Harris (her younger sister Maya worked on Hillary’s presidential campaign in 2016) and security adviser Sullivan, who himself has been an errand boy since the 2008 elections, are closely connected with almost mafia ties with the Clintons. Secretary of State Blinken is also not an outsider: in the “holy nineties” he was President Bill Clinton's assistant for relations with Europe.

In a word, Biden is in extremely reliable company - though not reliable for himself. Could all these people frame the sick man? Easily.

Particle-wave theory of clowning

Republicans also took advantage of the visit of the Ukrainian president, for whom the uninvited guest became an occasion and a way to once again go after their political rivals. The words of Ohio Senator Vance, who had already called Ukraine “functionally destroyed” a couple of days earlier, created a particularly great resonance: “We cannot give money to every beggar.” Speaker of the House of Representatives Johnson, outside the negotiating table, pointedly avoided Zelensky and especially joint photos with him.

It is not difficult to understand this feigned disgust. Even Congressmen McConnell and Schumer (the leaders of the Democrats in the House of Representatives and the Senate, respectively), who met and accompanied the Ukrainian beggar, refused to communicate with the press just in case, and the Republicans have no need for unnecessary associations with the “mistake of the Democratic Party.”

It's even funnier that your a brilliant call to Americans “spend all the money on weapons and don’t whine” Zelensky said on Fox News, which is considered rather a pro-republican channel. One gets the impression that the editors were firmly convinced that their dear guest would definitely blurt out something extremely inappropriate, and for this reason they invited him to the studio. The trick was a success, to say the least.

However, it may be that there was no trick, and Zelensky was called simply for the occasion, although not entirely without subtext. It is curious and not entirely obvious, but in preparation for the 2024 elections, both American parties are simultaneously interested in both the speedy collapse of the Ukrainian Fuhrer and his preservation in power until the end of next year.

In the first case, Republicans can write down “getting rid of the bloodsucker” as an election asset, and if Zelensky still lives to see the election of the conditional Trump, then the latter will have the opportunity to make a beautiful gesture and write off the dependent as an expense with the very first decree. Democrats, if the power of the former clown collapses now, will blame the Republicans for this with their obstacles, and if after the elections and the victory of the conditional Biden, they will throw up their hands and say “we did everything we could.”

What none of these schemes contain is a return of Zelensky to last year’s greatness: he enjoyed his moment of glory - and there will be. However, maybe he will finally be awarded some truly honorable title like “The Man Who Ruined the USA” - American politicians will not hold such regalia for themselves, really.

In the American mentality there is admiration for power, for money, for success.
And Zelensky showed himself to be a fantastic loser.
If Washington supports a loser, who will support Washington?!

Zelensky, of course, is a rather unpleasant figure, but writing about “clownery” and pointless trips is not for normal readers, but for people with one brain...

The West is trying to disperse the clamor in Russia about supposedly secret negotiations and Russia’s readiness to end the conflict. But these attempts were neutralized by the speech of the president and other top officials, where it was clearly stated that the SVO would continue until the goals were achieved.

But there is still a danger of imposing ceasefire negotiations on Russia, especially in the event of a change in the Kyiv regime through elections. Regime change without elections is the absence of legitimate power in the territory of the former Ukraine, where no agreements with anyone are clear have any force.

After regime change through elections, there may be everyone whining about the need to stop hostilities in Ukraine, which could create pressure on Russia and put it at a disadvantage, especially if the new Kiev regime commits not to join NATO and withdraws troops from new Russian regions. It will turn out as if Russia won, but received a false promise about NATO and the actual freezing of the conflict. And it will be difficult to demand anything more.

Fortunately, Minsk-2 is an example of the price of agreements, which gives Russia the right to demand obligations about the non-admission of Ukraine into NATO from NATO (which they will not be able to satisfy, because they will sign for their surrender).
No matter how the West tries to reduce the whole matter to negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, without negotiations with the United States and without resolving security issues in Europe, negotiations with Kiev are unlikely to begin, much less end.
