Russian "Daggers" arrived at the Starokonstantinov airfield
Russian MiG-31 aircraft fired three hypersonic missiles at the Starokonstantinov airfield. Ukrainian monitoring channels report this. It is emphasized that the air raid alert was announced after the hits.
The nature of the damage that the Ukrainian air harbor received is still unknown. But, given that the Starokonstantinov airfield is the main base for Ukrainian Su-24 aircraft, which carry Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles, we can assume that they were the target. However, in addition to the Su-24, MiG-29 and Su-27 were also based in Starokonstantinov, a number of which still remained at the disposal of the Ukrainian army.
The fact that an air raid alert was announced after the arrivals does not mean that one of the most important air bases in Ukraine does not have its own air defense. It simply cannot do anything against the Russian Kinzhal hypersonic missile systems.
These unique weapons have already struck American Patriot missile defense systems, which the United States positioned as invulnerable. And they applied it very successfully. In any case, after these attacks, Washington stopped supplying these systems to Kyiv, fearing for their reputation.
