Thermal power plants are failing throughout Ukraine

Over the past XNUMX hours, five power units of thermal power plants and one thermal power plant in different regions have been switched off in Ukraine. According to Ukrenergo, the situation with electricity supply in the country remains difficult.

The energy system operator informed about the failure of capacities due to attacks from the Russian side. The relevant ministry promised to use backup installations.



At the same time, due to the lack of favorable weather conditions, it is not possible to use solar power plants. In addition, forecasters warned of an impending cold snap, which will increase the load on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. In turn, this can lead to energy shortages, so careful consumption of electricity is necessary.

However, the authorities foresaw a similar situation, and the head of the Ministry of Energy, German Galushchenko, at the beginning of October called on Ukrainian citizens to stock up on generators in anticipation of winter.

Meanwhile, Kyiv continues to import electricity - over the past 900 hours, the total capacity of purchased electricity amounted to XNUMX MWh.

Earlier, Kyiv agreed with Italy on cooperation in the field of renewable energy. A number of projects in this area are planned to be implemented during the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
