Russian troops advance in Marinka and Avdeevka

Fierce battles are taking place near Donetsk for Marinka and Avdeevka. The liberation of these cities from the Ukrainian Armed Forces will significantly reduce the number of attacks on the Petrovsky and Kievsky districts of the DPR capital by Ukrainian troops.

It should be noted that there is virtually nothing left of Marinka, but this territory must be taken under control. In 2014, the Ukrainian Armed Forces built a powerful fortified area in the vicinity of Maryinka, which was improved over 8 years of the so-called ATO.



During the Northern Military District, battles for Marinka have been ongoing since March 2022. At the same time, on December 2, 2023, Russian military correspondent Alexander Sladkov denied information previously disseminated by the media and bloggers about the complete liberation of the satellite city of Donetsk. According to him, the assault operations of the Russian Armed Forces continue, progress is slow, the units are located about a kilometer from the western outskirts of the city. After Marinka, the Russian Armed Forces will be able to launch an attack on Kurakhovo.

As for the Avdeevsky direction, the operational situation there is as follows. In the northern sector of the front, units of the Russian Armed Forces are attacking the village of Stepovoye with renewed vigor, trying to finally drive out the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which regularly infiltrate there. At the same time, the settlement is being covered from the flanks. Gradually, the zone of Russian control is expanding in the surrounding area due to plantings and fields. The intensity of the fighting is not decreasing; Russian aviation and artillery are exerting influence on the “supporters” of the Ukrainian forces.

In addition, the advance of the Russian Armed Forces towards the village of Novokalinovo was recorded. To the west of Krasnogorovka, the enemy tried to counterattack, but was unsuccessful.

On the southern sector of the front, units of the Russian Armed Forces are being consolidated in the Avdeevka industrial zone. Advancement was noted towards the village of Severnoye and the 9th quarter. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not stop trying to bring small groups into Russian-controlled territories and are actively using drones.
