So, in 1989, the US Secret Service discovered unusual, but at first glance, quite genuine banknotes. The $XNUMX bills were made from the same cotton blend and printed with the same Swiss quality ink. Even the security fibers and watermarks looked identical.

But it was a very high-quality fake. The examination revealed microscopic inaccuracies in shades and alignment.

The discovered banknotes were classified by the US Secret Service as series C14342, and were secretly called “super dollars.”
