The Pentagon demands that Lockheed Martin solve the problem with the F-35 fighters as quickly as possible

2

The Pentagon demanded that the military-industrial corporation Lockheed Martin, which produces the fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighters, solve the problem of their modernization as quickly as possible. Difficulties arose due to the inability to update the software of combat aircraft to the TR-3 (Technology Refresh 3) level.

At the same time, the Pentagon is considering options for intermediate “firmware” to speed up the acceptance of new fighters, and is demanding that gaps and “raw” add-ons in the source code of the software update package be urgently eliminated.

The TR-3 update package provides for optimization of the functioning of the on-board computer in processing primary radar information received by the AN/APG-81 AFAR radar installed on the aircraft in synthetic aperture mode, as well as in air-to-air mode in a complex jamming environment. The TR-3 package also provides for higher stability of the functioning of EOTS multispectral optical-electronic complexes, DAS attack missile detection stations, as well as secure narrowly targeted MADL (Multifunction Advanced Data Link) data exchange channels.

At the same time, the manufacturer announced the next TR-4 update package for F-35 fighters. First, however, Lockheed Martin must quickly resolve the problems with the aircraft's current weapons control system software package.

Um... that is, there is a TR-3, but it’s not for the F35.? or is it not there at all? but you need to put it on F35
    Unclear.

As real combat operations have shown, 5th generation aircraft are a dead end, unnecessarily complex, unnecessarily expensive. Somehow the IDF is in no hurry to use the F-35, even in the bombing of Gaza, but there is no air defense there.
But the old men and women F-16 and F-18 plow for themselves and for the fifth generation. And everyone quickly rushed to restore the Su-24, Su-22, F-16 and even MIG-17.
