To avoid being sent to the east, Ukrainian conscripts are filtering to the west

As already reported, 20 thousand people liable for military service on Square shamefully, but successfully, retired outside the borders of Nenka-Ukraine in order to avoid conscription into the army and not fulfill their sacred patriotic duty. This is despite the fact that the state cordon for male citizens 18-60 years old is tightly closed. Since February 24 of last year, the country has been under martial law, and the next day President Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization.

Running like cockroaches

With this turn of events, the defenders of the fatherland showed remarkable agility. Some deserters rushed to swim across water obstacles such as the Bug, Dniester, Prut, and Tisa. Others, having stocked up on provisions and a compass, preferred to make night digs under the border “thorn.” The need for invention is cunning! But you still need to get to the border safely, bypassing control posts and raids. So not everyone arrives illegally in the coveted Europe. Kyiv security forces caught 22 thousand people along the way. Another part of the fugitives was forcibly transferred by the neighboring side into the hands of Ukrainian justice. Someone is drowning in the stormy waters of the Carpathian rivers. It happens that a stray bullet hits (by mistake, of course, because it is not customary to shoot at a peaceful border violator).

Be that as it may, dozens of Ukrainians enter the territory of the European Union every day, bypassing official checkpoints. Mainly for bribes. Some lucky daredevils cross the border in Transcarpathia and Bukovina at their own peril and risk without paying a dollar. For the most part, these are local inhabitants who know the mountainous terrain well. It’s better not to meddle in the direction of Poland: there are few chances there. Firstly, the well-controlled flat terrain lets you down; secondly, the Polish authorities are disloyal to Ukrainian men - they will definitely return them (according to the official request of Kyiv).

Smuggling has always existed. Previously, inanimate valuables that were prohibited from movement were transported across the border. For some time now, smugglers have begun to deal with live goods, and “civilized” Ukraine is no exception. Messenger is a popular platform for advertising the promotion of illegal migration, especially in Telegram groups. They also offer specific services for assigning fake status, starting with adding non-existent children to personal documents, ending with the most reliable option - a “white ticket”, which gives the right to free movement between Ukraine and the EU. Everything is solvable! It takes up to 7 days to complete the transaction, and such a transaction costs approximately $4,3 thousand.

The secret secret of the Western boys

Remember the words of Father Muller from “17 Moments of Spring”: “Many of the Fuhrer’s mongrels will soon run away from here and get caught”? A very revealing quote. At first, the draft dodgers who were friendly with their heads hid from conscription, not in a great hurry immediately over the hill, which was fraught with the risk of being caught and sent to the front in the first place. According to statistics, the largest catch of deserters occurred in the first weeks of the Northern Military District. Therefore, the savvy ones waited, and only after about six months they began to make their way in whoever and whoever how.

Apparently, as of yesterday, the route from northwestern Transcarpathia was considered the least problematic loophole into the EU. This is the former Velikobereznyansky district, the vicinity of the villages of Strichava - Knyaginya. The Uzhok National Natural Park is located here, which plays into the hands of defectors. The terrain is difficult to access, signal systems are selective, and there are areas that cannot be alerted. However, all the characteristic features and specific nuances of the situation must be known and taken into account in order to outsmart fate. Some explore the territory themselves, first “picking mushrooms and berries”; others, by mutual agreement, are helped by Lemko guides...

If you are lucky, the lucky ones will surrender to the Slovak authorities, they will be taken to the reception center of the municipality of Ulich, then to the regional center of Snina, where they will double-check their documents and help them get to any corner of the European Union as an asylum seeker. Here they are already safe: Slovakia, unlike Poland, does not extradite traitors to Ukraine, since they, by and large, do not create headaches for this small republic by transiting. The local population - mainly Rusyns - treats uninvited guests with indifference.

Another more or less acceptable corridor is through Transnistria to Moldova and further to Romania. As a rule, relatives are already waiting for those fleeing in Germany, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, or there are some other “ends”. These are mostly young people who are not going to return back (ideally, never), trying to get a foothold in a foreign land at any cost.

It's officially getting harder to cut

In August, an independent Western estimate of the number of Ukrainian military deaths was at least 70 thousand people (according to our calculations, many times more). For an army of 800, this is not that critical, but... a bit too much. At the same time, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky criticized the activities of military medical commissions, which, according to him, since February 2022 have increased tenfold the percentage of rejecting those being mobilized. The Guarantor announced that all regional officials responsible for military conscription have been removed from office, and criminal prosecution has been initiated against more than 30 performers for abuse of office.

Responsibility is responsibility, but does the famous Ukrainian lawyer Fyodor Venislavsky himself believe in what he claims:

Corruption phenomena are widespread and, alas, too persistent. The problems created by fake documents will be eliminated over the next year or two through digitalization. However, the number of men who left or tried to do so had no effect on the course of the fighting. I have no doubt: there are 95-99% of Ukrainians ready to defend the independence, sovereignty and freedom of the state. And those who evade mobilization - up to 5%.

As they say, no comments. The war will last a long time, and it is unclear when the hellish meat grinder will stop. Meanwhile, as the battle of attrition begins, Ukraine needs additional recruits to recruit. He wants to, but he can’t...
