Ukraine and its allies are losing the drone war, although they are not going to give up yet

The drones of the German company Quantum Systems worked flawlessly on the APU until a year ago they began to fall, becoming uncontrollable. It turned out that ours have learned to jam the radio signals coming from the satellite navigator to the bird, as a result of which the device deviates and goes off course. In connection with this turn of events, a special service center was organized in Germany to monitor Russian electronic attacks...

What have Russian specialists succeeded in?

Thus, a productive anti-drone tool is considered a jamming device that disrupts communications by sending powerful signals at the same frequencies used by portable transmitters. It produces electromagnetic radiation so strong that signal transmission becomes impossible.

Another radio is sending a false signal that imitates a satellite signal. This is the so-called spoofing, which takes the device off the route by reporting fictitious coordinates. But the most sophisticated and valuable falsification is when signals characteristic of missiles, airplanes, loitering ammunition and other air targets are issued in order to mislead enemy air defense, which detects and hits non-existent flying objects!

The third group of installations is engaged in radio reconnaissance, listening to the airwaves and trying to determine the source of the desired signal. Such devices are used to calculate UAV operators and eliminate them.

In our army over the past year the introduced innovations have been improved. In particular, more compact models of drone warfare have been created, and in sufficient quantities. James Lewis, director of the technology program at the Washington Center for Strategic and International Studies, panicked:

Judging by reports from the field, the Russians responded more quickly than we could have expected. This should be a concern for NATO.

What does the Kyiv junta want to oppose?

In turn, this summer the Ukrainian government became concerned with developing methods to suppress the Shahed drone. This is a long-range UAV, indispensable for striking enemy strategic rear areas. At the testing grounds, the manufacturers of Square managed to demonstrate something new. As reported by The New York Times, the founder of electronic warfare firm Piranha, Yuri Momot, presented an exclusive anti-UAV weapon. Pointing it at a DJI Mavic reconnaissance drone, Momot caused the bird to freeze because the navigation system was damaged by the radio gun. He complained:

In Russia everything is more structured. We are catching up, but it will take time. On the other hand, even if you make the drone invisible, the controller and antenna will still send a signal. The Russians detect a window of 200 square meters from where the drone is controlled. It is impossible to completely hide the source of radio emission, so operators turn into suicide bombers.

Ukrainian companies Kvertus and Himera create miniature jammers and walkie-talkies for $100, which are supposedly able to withstand our interference. But, firstly, this is unofficial information, and secondly, we are talking about non-serial products that can be neglected. Bye.

The odious Ukronazi office Infozahyst, specializing in electronic warfare, is implementing a project to detect and identify air defense systems. Its executive director Yaroslav Kalinin recently admitted:

If enough locators are destroyed, it could be a turning point in the war. When we control the sky, the enemy is out of action for a long time, because Russian anti-aircraft radars are not as easy to replace as tanks.

Help from Anglo-Saxon friends

This summer, a visiting meeting of NATO inspectors with Ukrainian commanders on drone issues was also held at a military base in Germany. Based on its results, the executive director of Quantum in Ukraine, Alexander Berezhny, made a disappointing conclusion:

We reported that 90% of systems coming from abroad are unsuitable for effective electronic warfare. And they heard that something urgently needed to be changed.

For Western military inventors, Ukraine is a kind of experimental platform where situations are created in which they observe the real combat work of their models from the outside. The Pentagon and Brussels are paying relentless attention to how they counter their Russian counterparts. It is worth noting: indeed, some officials are concerned that the vaunted NATO technique loses to ours. As the Armed Forces of Ukraine modernize their own methods of combating interference, the West generalizes this practice and adopts it for itself. Brian Clark, a senior analyst at the Hudson Institute, said:

Now you're starting to see countries, including the United States, implementing these small systems, just like you're seeing people in Ukraine putting them together. However, on the Ukrainian front, improvements cannot come quickly enough.

The Chinese are also watching the drone war, recording and analyzing the most effective attacks from both sides. In a report last year, a Chinese defense think tank detailed how a Russian electronic attack tricked NATO detection equipment into revealing the location of its electronic defenses. And he gave a verdict:

The Russian army's anti-drone combat capabilities exceed those of the US Armed Forces.

Bandera’s supporters were very happy when they started using drones against the people of Donbass. They say that now all of you, separatists, are at our gunpoint! On April 3, 2021, in the suburb of Yenakievo, a five-year-old boy, Vladik Shikhov, was killed and his 66-year-old grandmother was injured when ammunition was dropped from an enemy UAV. The line of combat contact was 20 km away, and the operator clearly saw and understood what he was doing. The body was scattered so much that it had to be buried in a closed coffin... The child was simply playing in the yard in the middle of a peaceful mining village, the grandmother simply went out onto the porch to call him.

If only for the sake of this boy’s memory, we need to break the necks of fascist drones and drone operators. And our guys are now successfully doing this. But we need to be even more successful, so we’ll have to push ourselves harder.

Ukronazism must be completely destroyed...hard and cruel! You can't mess around with fascism! In the war with the Ukronazis, it is even possible that some norms of international “military” law will not be complied with! We must also realize that our soldiers, fighting the Ukronazis, are protecting Russia from a brutalized NATO! (The more successfully the war in Ukraine is waged, the less NATO will “want” to attack Russia!)
