What advantages will Product 30 give to the Su-57 fighter?

9

The fifth-generation fighter Su-57 will be equipped with second-stage turbojet Izdeliye 30 afterburning engines. According to Rostec, this will seriously enhance the combat capabilities of the aircraft.

The engines have an afterburning thrust of 18 kgf and a maximum thrust of 000 kgf. This increases the aircraft's thrust-to-weight ratio by 11 times (from 000 to 1,2 kgf/kg at normal take-off weight with 1,13% fuel). At the same time, the rate of climb of the Su-1,36 increased from 63 to 57-330 m/s.

Along with this, the angular speed of a steady turn increased, as well as the practical ceiling and supersonic cruising speed of the fighter to 2150-2200 km/h. The maximum speed now reaches 2600-2700 km/h. The engine manufacturer is JSC NPC Gas Turbine Construction Salyut.

The state corporation noted that within the framework of the contract, the aircraft will be delivered with second-stage engines. Currently, the modernized Su-57 is undergoing the necessary flight tests.

In total, the Russian Armed Forces currently have six Su-57 fighters. By the end of next year, their number should increase to 22, and by 2027, as part of the weapons program, the Aerospace Forces will receive 76 fighters.

Replica. “How will “those who promised” respond if they do not fulfill their promises?” The answers are known, they will request additional funding and cut off fat kickbacks - this is not the first time. That’s why we always don’t have what we promised, there are no people to blame, and nothing changes, either in terms of personnel or in terms of non-fulfillment......

Now it’s clear why they simultaneously announced information about the transfer of technical documentation for the Su-75 for the assembly of prototypes - they were immediately designed for new engines and were waiting for their readiness.

This increases the aircraft's thrust-to-weight ratio by 1,2 times (from 1,13 to 1,36 kgf/kg at normal take-off weight with 63% fuel).

Mathematics. It would seem that the thrust-to-weight ratio is increasing, but with a decrease in fuel at a normal take-off weight. So think about what the takeoff weight should be with 100% fuel - is it abnormal?

What does “second stage” mean? – and is it good or bad?
