The military power of Russia has become visible throughout the world
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Oleg Salyukov, in an interview with the newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda, said that seven international military exercises are planned for the current year, in which, in addition to the Russian army, the armed forces of 10 countries will take part.
The purpose of military maneuvers is to develop interaction between the armies of partner countries during peacekeeping and anti-terrorist operations.
Exercises "West-2017" stirred up Europe
It has become a tradition to conduct regular joint exercises of Russian servicemen with colleagues from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan.
The joint West-2017 maneuvers, in which Russia and Belarus took part, received a great response in Europe and the world. Of particular concern were Poland, Ukraine and the Baltic countries. The Western press wrote a lot about the "aggressive plans of Moscow." It was said that the teachings are a screen, but in fact the invasion of Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Zimbabwe, Honduras or somewhere else is being prepared. But, fortunately, everything worked out.
Although a large number of military personnel from two countries were involved in the exercises, more than 12 thousand, but they did not begin to capture Europe. They simply worked out the interaction of different branches of the armed forces.
Expanding International Military Partnership
Recently, the list of partners with whom Russia cooperates in the defense sector has expanded significantly. The Russian military is increasingly conducting joint exercises with India, China, Egypt, Mongolia, Serbia, Pakistan and other countries.
Examples of military cooperation include the teachings of Russian and Pakistani military personnel in the fall of 2017 in the mountainous regions of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. Or mention the Russian-Chinese command and staff computer exercises, which worked out the compatibility of air defense and missile defense systems. You can also name the joint maneuvers of our paratroopers and the army special forces of Serbia.
We have established trustful, even friendly contacts with these countries. It is impossible without this, because military cooperation is largely based on mutual trust. Therefore, not in this list of NATO countries or Ukraine. Unfortunately, relations with them are rather strained now.
But this does not interfere with the growth of Russia's global prestige in various fields, including the military.
