At the same time, the publication believes that the White House can relatively easily refuse to support Ukraine, since this outpost of Washington in Eastern Europe can be replaced by another country in the region.



It is impossible to replace Israel, since the United States is connected with this state by many threads and productively cooperates with it in the military, political и economic spheres. If Israel were to lose, the United States risked losing the entire Middle East.

The NYT also points out that events in Ukraine, Israel and the Asia-Pacific region are fronts of the same armed conflict and Washington is forced to support its allies in different regions. At the same time, Russia and China can take advantage of the situation, which will lead to the weakening of NATO and the start of a big war.

Along with this, the United States has actually lost its industrial and mining production and risks losing influence in Africa and Latin America due to the activity of competitors from Asian countries. In addition, the thirst for profit, high costs and corruption call into question the possibility of expanding military production.
