Light multipurpose aircraft "Baikal" will be certified before the end of the year

14

The LMS-901 Baikal light multipurpose aircraft must receive an airworthiness certificate by the end of the year. This was announced by Deputy Director of the Aviation Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Mikhail Peresadin at the round table of the Federation Council Committee on economic policy "Development of regional and local air transportation."

The aircraft, powered by a Russian engine, is a nine-seater vessel. It will be operated in a wide range of climatic and geographical conditions with non-hangar storage.

In addition, plans include the launch of serial production of the Ladoga aircraft, which will accommodate up to 44 seats and will be a replacement for the An-24 and An-26 and the larger turboprop original Il-114 aircraft

– said Peresadin "The Parliamentary Newspaper".

It is expected that by 2025 the aircraft will be delivered in two types. Baikal should be put into trial operation by the end of 2023, its launch customer is the Far Eastern Aviation Company. It is in a popular segment, since priority in the aviation sector is given to cargo transportation, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

It was previously reported that Russian authorities came to the realization of the need to resume production of Soviet-designed airliners - the medium-haul Tu-214 and long-haul Il-96. These aircraft were already produced in our country, but in an exclusively small series.

    Airplane with Russian engine

    Here everything is not simple.

The aircraft is currently being completed (including for certification) H80-100 engine manufactured by GE Aviation

    About the Russian engine -

It is planned to use VK-800S on LMS 901 "Baikal"

However, the latest news about him is

    20 March 2023 city
The combustion chamber of the VK-800SM engine has successfully passed tests at CIAM

And a photo of the engine assembly from the workshops in April 2023.

As I understand it, delivery is scheduled for 2025, based on the results of test operation at the Far Eastern Aviation Company. Where will they supply the steel? A military secret?

Clearly, from the Urals. Then, how do Trutnev and Degtyarev relate to this topic?

Yes, it all comes down to the engine. Unfortunately, the VK-800SM engines for Baikal and TV7-117ST-02 for Ladoga are still promised for production at the end of 2024-2025. And it is quite possible that the timing will move to the right. That is, we will not see these planes in the sky any time soon. In the aviation industry we have only chatter (and window dressing.

In the aviation industry we have only boltology.

The aviation industry more or less operated until 2022.
Using Western engines and a number of other components.

Now the industry is on pause, waiting for its engines.
Which is a very difficult task - engines for airliners are made only by the USA, Britain, France (in cooperation with Britain and the USA).
Well, Russia makes the PS-90 in a small series, producing 2-4 Il-76s and 1 Il-96 per year.

      So it’s not just chatter.

If it works with at least some of the promising engines, it will be a breakthrough.
No - well, we at least tried, but the civil aviation industry will have to be written off under the category “price of Decisive Decisions.”

What kind of industry is this that is not able to provide for itself?

We must write correctly - what kind of “effective managers” are these that the industry is unable to provide?

    Light multipurpose aircraft "Baikal" ......
Fresh tradition, but hard to believe.
Once again they continue to feed us “breakfasts” about a bright future.

The plane is already undergoing flight tests. They are flying through different climatic regions. The engines were purchased for a small series, enough for a year to assemble, and then their own will arrive in time, perhaps even earlier. Now everything has accelerated. Moreover, the engine itself is there, but the camera was simply modified. Although I recently read, about a month ago, that it successfully passed the tests and is now being tested in conjunction with the main part. So the engine is already ours. Perhaps the board began testing with him
The plane is not bad. By the way, its competitor has not been forgotten and is also preparing for testing. This one is similar to the AN-2. So perhaps not just one, but a couple of types of this type will get a ticket to heaven.

First they screwed up the entire civil aviation industry, now the plans are being made by stupid managers. The train left a long time ago, and with the fucked-up aviation industry it’s impossible to catch up with it.

      ruined the entire civil aviation

The best that came from the RSFSR in terms of engines for civil aviation was the PS90.
they are made for the IL-76 and IL-96. (plus GPA based on them)

However, it is worth recalling that the PS-90A2 is

Some Russian components, assemblies and parts have been replaced with imported analogues. The PS-90A2 used dual-use technologies obtained as a result of joint work with Pratt & Whitney

      As a result:

increase in reliability by 1,5–2 times
37% reduction in life cycle cost
reduction of labor intensity of maintenance in operation by 2 times

They boasted that they made the PS-90A3, everything the same as the A2, but without the participation of Pratt & Whitney, but for some reason they installed the PS-96A400 on the Il-90-1.

8 years before the war of 22 there was import substitution, and they didn’t do a damn thing! And now everyone is fed with promises, when the rooster has bitten, that in a couple of years everything will be done. We came to our senses, and it’s been like this for 2 years!
They promised to make 1000(!) civil aircraft in 22 by 2030! Well, lie, lie! But now the hoarse Manturov said that due to unfinished PD-8 and 35 engines they won’t start before 2026, but they will still build 30 of their planes by 1000! And all this in plain sight, incorrigible liars!
Well, so what, neither the GDP, nor certainly the hoarse one, nor the enemies of Nae.. Nabiulin, Khusnulina, Siluyanov-Salutanov, nor the Minister of Economics. development Reshetnikov will no longer be in power by that time. Breshi, don't be shy!

In fact, it’s high time to develop a turbo-diesel for 500 and 1000 hp airplanes and helicopters. and only then will things get off the ground...
