Russian "Lancets" acquired a "shock core"

10

New Russian kamikaze UAVs (loitering munitions) of the Lancet family are believed to have acquired a so-called “shock core” type charge. The essence of equipping this warhead is that no nets, gratings, “barbecues” or other structures will protect against it.

We can say that the Lancets have become a universal weapon (they use cumulative and high-explosive warheads) and an extremely useful weapon. A video has already appeared on the Internet demonstrating the use of the Lancet with a “shock core” against armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The footage shows an air detonation of a warhead of a flying Lancet a few meters before an enemy sample equipment.

This video was noticed by Russian expert Yuri Podolyaka, who commented on it on his Telegram channel on November 9. The expert noted that he had known about the “shock core” for a long time, but had never seen it in action. Now he saw how the Lancet works with a “shock core”, from which there is no protection.

By the way, this is far from the only “surprise” that awaits the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the coming months. You wanted a technological war, we have something to say about this. I think that already in winter the groans of the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers will be even louder. But I don’t know everything that’s being prepared. But what I already know allows me to write what I wrote...

Podolyaka summed up.

In turn, the Ukrainian developer BLITZ Aircraft Unmanned confirmed in his blog that the improved Russian Lancet with a LIDAR sensor (laser locator) located next to the directional camera detects APU armored vehicles before contacting them. LIDAR is a system for obtaining information about distant objects using light reflection and scattering in transparent and translucent media.

This solution is effective against nets and similar protection. Most likely testing or one-time use

I can see that there was some cosmetic damage to the vehicle but doubt it was rendered combat ineffective.

"Damn! Don't be smart! Show your hand!" Who decided to show their stupidity here? Then, when there are many simple and sensible explanations on the Internet! But by and large, there is no need for a lidar (!)... a “elementary” miniature laser rangefinder, that is, a non-contact laser fuse, is enough!

I don’t think that the “impact core” for the “lancet” will turn out to be a “panacea”! It's all about the armor-piercing features of the "shock core"! The “impact core” formed from copper penetrates armor half the diameter of the ammunition (for tantalum it is 1 diameter, but tantalum is expensive!)... If the diameter (“caliber”) of the “lancet” is somewhere around 152 mm, then the “armor-piercing” will be in the “area” of 70-76 mm! For a "roofbreaker" - it'll do! But if the “lancet” attack falls on the frontal part of the hull or turret??!!

Something in the video looks more like the destruction of incoming ammunition by the Active Protection Complex (APS). Which is quite the case with Bradley. Both the flame and the flow of gases with smoke are directed away from the target. It looks like the victory is very premature.

There is no Kaz on Bradley. There may be dynamic protection, but it is triggered by contact

I never saw any damage to the equipment. No smoke, no fire. It was as if the lancet had simply been knocked off.

In my opinion, first there was a flash at the stern of the tower, and then the explosion of the Lancet. It looks like some kind of KAZ was working on the armored vehicles.

    Compare with SPBE impact
Podolyak again sucked some power out of his finger.

New videos have appeared, and indeed a lancet with remote detonation has appeared
