The Russian Airborne Forces are testing the portable firing point PT PKM-DU "Manul"
At the training ground of the 98th Guards Air Assault Division, the Manul portable PT PKM-DU firing point is currently being tested. It was created by local designers taking into account the experience of a special military operation. Video footage of the tests was published online.
Judging by the video, the design of the portable firing point is a PKM machine gun mounted on a special machine with remote control. The process of aiming and shooting from a laptop is controlled by the operator. It is clarified that after completion of the tests, the PKM-DU "Manul" anti-tank missile will be transferred to units of the 98th Airborne Assault Division in the special military operation zone.
However, this is not all the know-how that may soon appear in service with units of the Russian Airborne Forces. At the same time, at the training ground of the 98th Airborne Assault Division, tests are being carried out on the portable firing point of the Boomslang anti-tank missile system with a remote control panel.
Let us add that experts do not give exact dates for the arrival of new weapons to the troops, however, judging by the pace of testing, we will not have to wait long.
Note that the 98th Airborne Division, based in the city of Ivanovo, has been taking part in the special military operation from the first days. The unit’s fighters, together with their colleagues from Pskov, held the defense for a long time and stormed nationalist strongholds in the Lugansk People’s Republic, and are now carrying out combat missions in the DPR.
