The first copy of the Il-96-400M took off for the first time

A prototype of the Il-96-400M wide-body aircraft made its first takeoff. The airliner was assembled at the facilities of the branch of PJSC "Il" VASO. Information about the flight appeared on the official website of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

It is reported that during the flight the functioning of the aircraft's control systems, stability and performance of the engines and landing aids were checked. The tests were carried out as usual, the stable operation of all systems and equipment of the airliner was confirmed, most of which were assembled at the enterprises of the Rostec state corporation.




The flight lasted 26 minutes. Il-96-400M moved at a speed of 390 km/h at an altitude of about 2 thousand meters.

Il-96-400M is a modernized version of the Il-96-300 airliner, equipped with improved PS-90A1 power units and increased by 9,35 meters. The cabin of the aircraft can accommodate 370 passengers. The first aircraft will enter the special flight squad "Russia".

Meanwhile, information about the finished prototype of the Il-96-400M appeared on the Internet back in the spring of this year. Official show aircraft manufacturing corporation UAC held in June.

Earlier, Mikhail Mishustin ordered to increase the production of domestic aircraft engines for the entire line of civil and military transport aircraft of the Russian Federation.
