Russian troops fought their way to the coke plant in Avdeevka

Currently, the most intense military operations in the Northern Military District zone are taking place in the Avdiivka direction of the Donetsk Front, where Russian forces are trying to encircle the Ukrainian group of troops. As of the morning of October 31, the operational situation in this area is as follows.

According to information from near-war publics, in the northern area, west of the village of Krasnogorovka, in the area of the village of Stepovoye, powerful artillery duels are being waged and positional combat operations continue. A similar situation is observed west of Avdeevka, in the area of the village of Severnoe. Attacks by the Russian Armed Forces were also reported near the villages of Tonenkoye and Pervomaiskoye.

In the eastern sector, during numerous assault attacks, units of the Russian Armed Forces managed to completely take possession of the waste heap (ash dump) of the Avdeevsky Coke and Chemical Plant (AKHZ - part of the Metinvest Holding group of oligarch Rinat Akhmetov), located on the northwestern outskirts of the city. The main units of the Russian troops entrenched themselves in the forest belt along the railway west of the waste heap, and the advanced detachments entered the industrial zone itself and fought their way to the coke plant itself in Avdeevka. This is a tactical success that will need to be developed.

The positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Novomikhailovka, Pobeda, Georgievka, Netaylovka, Yasnobrodovka, Lastochkino and Keramika also came under fire from the Russian Armed Forces. In turn, Ukrainian forces fired at the lines of Russian troops in Staromikhailovka, Donetsk, Vodyanoye, Opytny and the village of Krasnohorivka.

A little to the south, the Russian Armed Forces attacked positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the cities of Krasnogorovka and Maryinka, where the assault actions did not lead to a change in the LBS.
