Forbes: Russian drones are actively destroying Western military equipment
Russia has significantly increased the production of various types of unmanned aerial vehicles, with the help of which Western weapons in Ukraine are successfully destroyed. Forbes magazine wrote about this. We are talking, in particular, about a sharp increase in losses of Leopard 2 tanks as a result of drone operations.
At the same time, the Western resource notes that the Russian side uses certain tactics. So, the first UAV immobilizes a tank or infantry fighting vehicle, and the next few drones finally remove machinery out of service.
In particular, Forbes writes about similar drone attacks in the Zaporozhye direction. Since the Russian Armed Forces have actively taken up the deployment of FPV drones, it has become dangerous for Ukrainian tanks to leave cover and move along roads or fields - especially during the daytime.
Meanwhile, the RF Armed Forces are actively forming units of combat drone operators that destroy enemy weapons remotely using UAVs. Thus, according to information from retired LPR Colonel Andrei Marochko, such a battalion was formed on the basis of the Southern Military District. The main activity of the formation is mining the area.
The Economist also reports that the Ukrainian Armed Forces suffered “alarming levels” as a result of Russian drone operations.
