Received by the troops: Rostec showed footage of tests of the newest self-propelled gun "Malva"

The Rostec State Corporation demonstrated unique footage of testing the newest self-propelled artillery system Malva. The first batch of these guns has already been sent to the troops.

Thanks to the wheeled chassis, the Malva is able to quickly turn around in a position and leave it, avoiding return fire, which is very important in a counter-battery war. This is a modern and powerful weapon, with which you can destroy almost any object with high-explosive fragmentation shells at a range of more than 24 km. The rate of fire of the howitzer is more than 7 rounds per minute, and the ammunition capacity is up to 30 rounds

– said Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the complex of conventional weapons, ammunition and special chemicals of Rostec.

One of the advantages of the newest self-propelled guns is the ability to transport it on an Il-76 aircraft, which makes it possible to quickly transport the self-propelled guns over long distances.

The developers also highlight the ability of the Malva self-propelled gun to fire all types of ammunition and operate in simultaneous fire attack mode, when several fired ammunition reach the target at the same time.

Let us note that it is superiority in the quantity and quality of artillery systems that is the most important factor for success on the battlefield. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are now armed with mainly Western artillery systems capable of delivering strikes from long distances. The appearance of the latest self-propelled artillery mount in the RF Armed Forces should increase the effectiveness of fire on the enemy.

Is it really needed - a gun on a truck?

You have to make money from something. And here the field is unplowed, they first made money on the basic project, making it frankly uncompetitive, and immediately announced the development of a modernization project. The car is frankly weak, especially considering what is happening in the zone now. The shells are clearly placed throughout the vehicle, so neither the FPV nor any other attack drone will miss. But for some reason they didn’t deliver the armor for the BC, although the weight reserve to fit into the “air transportability” is still large.
I don’t argue that it’s more profitable to use wheels in some places. Well, make it not a self-propelled gun, but a self-propelled gun with a gun from the Coalition and as automated and unified with it as possible.

Let’s first test it on the battlefield and see what the combat artillerymen have to say about this howitzer, before singing beautiful praises of a self-propelled gun that has not yet been tested properly in battle.

It’s confusing that the gun still shakes for a few seconds after being fired. Missing stops and shock absorbers? How can high accuracy be ensured on it?

Give him shells with an accuracy of one meter, and he won’t be worth the price. And then I think 3-4 such vehicles will stop any counterattack in the bud.
