Source: 24 Ukrainian planes could have been shot down by new Iranian drones
According to a number of sources, Tehran supplied Moscow with Karrar unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with Majid and Shahab-e-Saqeb missiles. It is possible that with their help, the Russian Armed Forces were able to hit 24 enemy aircraft in five days, as Sergei Shoigu reported the day before.
The transferred drones are intended for use in the front-line zone; they control an area from 20 m to 12 km in altitude with an autonomy of about 4 hours. Carrar drones can be armed with air-to-surface and air-to-air missiles with a range of 500 m to 12 km.
It is important to note that a few days ago Iran announced the modernization of UAVs, which increased their flight range, speed and maximum operating altitude. The first drones of this type were tested by the Iranian military in 2021 and served as interceptors carrying missiles to destroy air targets.
The day before, Tehran appealed to the Russian side with a request to prevent the adoption of a resolution in the UN Security Council that would contradict the interests of Palestine. The head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Amir Abdollahian, announced relevant consultations with colleagues from the Russian Federation and China.
Previously, the United States proposed adopting a resolution condemning the actions of Palestinian radicals and recognizing Israel's right to self-defense, without calling for an end to the conflict.
