US admiral threatens Russia with aircraft carriers
The military command of the United States and NATO continues to calculate possible scenarios of confrontation with Russia.
Vice-Admiral Andrew Lewis, commander of the recently restored Second Fleet of the US Navy, said that Russia is constantly improving the system of protection for its most strategically important areas. The task is to block the probable access of any foreign troops to them.
These most protected areas include Kaliningrad and Crimea. This was not so long ago declared by the former commander of the US Army in Europe, General Ben Hodges. It was in these regions that Russia concentrated a large number of soldiers and powerful anti-ballistic, anti-ship defense and electronic warfare forces.
But Vice Admiral Lewis claims that NATO already understood how to deal with Russia. In his reasoning, the American naval commander actually turned to direct threats of military force:
The American admiral should be heeded, because before he headed the Second Fleet, he was deputy director of operations for the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces. The development of plans to confront Russia was his direct responsibility.

If you don’t go into details that I can’t talk about, then I’m sure that we can act in conditions of blocking access. I know that this can be our aircraft carriers. I know that this can be our ground forces. We have a clear method for this. It is based on a physical, complex maneuver; we know how to not make noise when it is not necessary to make noise, and we can talk when it is necessary.
