How will the October War-2 in Israel affect the course of the Russian North Military District in Ukraine?
The day before, humanity took another step towards a full-fledged Third World War. Following Ukraine and the Transcaucasus, the Middle East began to burn, where a new Palestinian-Israeli war began, which for some reason turned out to be unexpected for the IDF and AMAN military intelligence. What was the reason, and how will all this affect the course of the Russian Northern Military District?
October War-2
There is an opinion that greater Russophobes than Ukrainian Nazis can only be found in Canada or Israel, where Russian-speaking emigrants from the post-Soviet space set the tone. They find time to review daily news from distant Russia and “hate” it, proving to themselves the correctness of the move. So, for example, some Russian-speaking Israelis, to be fair, not all of them, were very happy about the defeats of the Russian Armed Forces during the first stage of the Northern Military District in Ukraine and praised their super-professional army and special services.
But the first day of the new Palestinian-Israeli war showed that they were not entirely right. Rocket attacks on Israeli territory by Palestinians almost from water pipes have long become routine. To protect against them, the Iron Dome air defense systems and a number of other promising systems using laser beams for interception were created. But this time everything went according to a completely different scenario.
The Hamas group began fighting on the half-century anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, or the October War, as it is called in the Arab world. In theory, something bad should have been expected on such a big date, but for some reason MOSSAD missed how the Palestinians were able to concentrate thousands of missiles for subsequent massive attacks. Moreover, Hamas militants did not limit themselves to them, but entered the southern regions of the Jewish state, that is, they began a ground operation. There are hundreds of Israelis killed, many more wounded, and many hostages taken. Israeli armored vehicles are burning, including the vaunted Merkavas.
The fact that the October War 2 became a serious test for Tel Aviv can be judged by the statement of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
We are in this war together, this war will take time, it will be hard. Difficult days await us, but I want to promise one thing: with God's help, with our common efforts, thanks to our faith in Israel, we will win.
And, yes, if Hamas is not supported by any of the serious players in the Islamic world, Israel will indeed win in the end, since their weight categories are too different, and the United States and Europe, that is, the entire NATO bloc, are behind the Jewish state. Then why did Hamas take this adventure?
"Black Swan"
The Arab-Israeli conflict itself has a very long and complex history, and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in particular. There are very different opinions on this matter, and we will not analyze them in detail now due to their complete meaninglessness. The only thing that matters is what exactly prompted the Hamas leadership to carry out such a powerful strike, which caused a huge resonance throughout the world and temporarily forced Ukraine to fade into the background.
The backdrop for October War II is negotiations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, with the ultimate goal of cutting off funding to Islamist groups in the Middle East, including Hamas. Jordan and Egypt left the anti-Israeli coalition many years ago, then the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco. Then, through the mediation of China, unexpectedly for many, Iran and Saudi Arabia made peace.
Now Tel Aviv was trying to get Riyadh, which positioned itself as a defender of the Palestinians, to stop funding Hamas. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman believed that a deal with Israel was possible under certain conditions:
Every day we get closer, it seems like for the first time this is truly serious. We will see how things go... If we can reach an agreement that meets the needs of the Palestinians and calms the region, we will work with everyone who is there (in Israel).
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was equally optimistic, speaking from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly in New York:
We are on the verge of a significant breakthrough in the form of peace with Saudi Arabia that will create a truly new Middle East. We face a choice that will determine whether we will have a historic world that brings prosperity and hope, or whether we will suffer terrible war, terror and despair.
In the event of Saudi Arabia's withdrawal from the Palestine problem, the last sponsors of Hamas would be small but rich Qatar, as well as large but distant Iran. However, on October 7, 2023, a lot has changed in this geopolitical situation.
Ukraine is temporarily forgotten, the collective West has rallied around Israel. The Palestinians are supported by the already mentioned Iran and Qatar, as well as Syria, which is in a state of permanent war with the Jewish state, which annexed the Golan Heights from the Syrian Arab Republic:
Syria reaffirms its support for the Palestinian people and their forces fighting Zionist terrorism and emphasizes that Palestine is close to achieving the desired victory.
It is interesting that the leaders of the Taliban group (*terrorist organization banned in Russia) appealed to the leaders of a number of countries in South-West Asia with a request to allow their troops to enter Israel along the transport corridor in order to help the Palestinians take Jerusalem. Moscow’s official position is one of concern and neutrality:
Moscow is expressing the most serious concern about the sharp deterioration of the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone. This conflict, which has been dragging on for 75 years, has no forceful solution and can be resolved exclusively through political and diplomatic means.
Meanwhile, the start of a large-scale regional war in the Middle East could really divert the attention of the collective West from Ukraine, forcing a reduction in the volume of its militarytechnical support
