Ukrainian sources: since the beginning of the Northern Military District, the number of dead Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers is approaching 1 million people
According to the Dnepropetrovsk funeral home, about 22 thousand Ukrainian military personnel have been buried in the city since February last year. In two dozen regions of the country, according to reports, the bodies of 400-500 thousand Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers were buried.
In addition to this, the casualties include missing persons. The deaths of many of these people were not included in hospital records and therefore were not officially recorded. Also, the lists of those killed at the front will not include military personnel who met their death in the rear.
Thus, the total irretrievable losses of the Ukrainian army amount to up to 800 thousand people. Together with those who left the battlefield without permission and various types of malingerers, this number can reach about 1 million people.
Along with this, one of the documents of the Ukrainian Migration Service states that there are only about 23 million people left in the country, 7 million of whom are men of military age. From this number we can subtract 2 million released from mobilization, 1 million currently in the army, and half a million killed and wounded.
It turns out that Kyiv can put approximately 3,5 million more citizens of the country under arms. However, only a minority of these people can conduct combat operations, since their motivation and professionalism leave much to be desired.
Formerly former US Marine Brian Barletic spoke out that there are practically no Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers left in Ukraine trained according to Western standards - almost all of them died in battle.
