The Russian leader yesterday visited the production sites of the Aeroscan company in Izhevsk. Vladimir Putin got acquainted with new models of attack and reconnaissance drones, and also inspected assembly lines and visited the plant’s training center.

Aeroscan LLC produces the famous Lancets, as well as reconnaissance drones. In addition to the well-known models of drones, a new attack UAV, reminiscent of the Iranian Shahed-136 or Geranium-2, appeared in the frame behind the Russian President. It is assumed that this is “Product 54”, which was previously announced by the manufacturer.



Following the inspection of the enterprise, Vladimir Putin emphasized the successes of the domestic military-industrial complex and called for an increase in the production of counter-battery weapons, such as the Lancet UAV.

Based on the results of eight months of this year, defense industry organizations managed to maintain a stable pace of work and not only fulfill the delivery schedule in general, but also increase the output of military products in certain areas. For example, the production volume of the main types of armored vehicles has more than doubled compared to last year, and the production of especially popular weapons has tripled. At the same time, it is necessary to increase the production volumes of counter-battery and air defense systems. In this regard, we talked about this, and I gave a number of instructions to supplement the supply schedule for 2024 with the corresponding nomenclature

Let us note that this order of the head of state is already being fully implemented. In Izhevsk, three shopping centers have already been repurposed for the production of UAVs. Similar enterprises are opening in other cities. For example, in Tambov they were able to set up the production of drones on the premises of a bakery without compromising the output of the main product.
