Separate European policy trying to earn points by speculating the provocation of Ukraine in the waters of the Kerch Strait.
The general secretary of the German Christian Democratic Union Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, who instead of following the example of Angela Merkel and not escalating tension, could not resist the temptation, made a proposal to discuss the possibility of closing the ports of the European Union and the United States for Russian ships from the Sea of Azov.
The Western politician believes that the West will have to take action if it turns out that "aggression came from Russia."
The German edition of Stern quotes the words of Kramp-Karrenbauer:
Everything would be fine, however, observing the decisions of the European Union and the USA in the last five years, it is easy to notice that any action of Russia is interpreted in the West as aggression and is used to put pressure on it. Moreover, the objectivity of such an interpretation is of least interest to European and American politicians and officials.
Given current trends, it is possible that the initiative of the German politician will receive support from the United States and several European countries.
But, speculating in such statements, Western politicians forget that the stick has two ends and Russia will always find a way to answer.
