Poroshenko wants to transfer the army to the Russian borders

According to the Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko, in connection with the latest events and martial law in the country, he intends to redeploy the troops. He shared such plans in the Chernihiv region during a meeting with residents.

Poroshenko said that in the current situation, weapons should be "kept ready." He accused Russia of striving to unite the “occupied” Crimea and, again, the “occupied” Donbass. However, in his opinion, the Ukrainian army is already "not the same" as in 2014, and is able to prevent Russia from implementing such plans.

First of all, the Ukrainian president emphasized, it is necessary to protect the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions. Another strengthening of the army, he believes, is necessary in the settlements located on the shores of the Sea of Azov. However, the Chernihiv region, believes Poroshenko, needs additional protection from the "enemy".

We will carry out the redeployment of troops, we will guard the border, including the border with the Russian Federation in the Chernihiv region so that the enemy troops do not enter the state

- he declared.

It should be recalled that by 14 pm on December 26 martial law was declared in Ukraine in those regions that are on the coast or are borderline. Such a measure was taken in connection with the incident in the Black Sea, when Ukrainian ships rudely violated the border.
