President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for the first time commented on the events in the Strait of Kerch that unfolded on November 25, 2018.

Recall that three warships of the Ukrainian Navy invaded Russian waters, creating a danger to navigation in the area, after which they were detained by the Border Service of the FSB of Russia.

Two boats and a tug were delivered to Kerch. The servicemen of the Ukrainian Navy, who were on Ukrainian courts, were detained, most of them are currently arrested by court order until January 25, 2019. After these events, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko introduced martial law in ten regions of the country, which, meanwhile, could entail restrictions on the rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens.

President Vladimir Putin called the incident a provocation of the Ukrainian side and emphasized that, due to the low rating, Poroshenko must create obstacles for opposition rivals.

In addition, the head of state noted:

Even after the annexation of Crimea to Russia and the conflict in the Donbass, martial law was not introduced in Ukraine, but now it’s just a small incident.

As for the actions of Russian border guards, they, according to the president, carried out their duties of protecting the state border.

He has already spoken out about the little green men, tractor drivers and combine harvesters, the equipment that is sold in Voentorg, the tanks that were taken out of the mines and now about the evil steals in the number of 24 people who decided to break through the strait in tow and two river boats to blow up bridge and simultaneously capture the Crimea. To combat this provocation, 10 warships, aviation, electronic warfare and special forces were involved. And since the tugboat was trying to quickly hide from patrol boats, it was necessary to use ram and weapons. But seriously, this circus has not yet been shown!
