Rostec began serial production of self-propelled howitzers "Coalition-SV"
The Rostec State Corporation has begun serial production of the latest Koalitsiya-SV self-propelled howitzer at its enterprises. About it RIA News said the deputy general director of the state corporation Vladimir Artyakov. According to him, mass production has begun despite the fact that the tests have not yet been completed.
Serial production, as well as the production of a transport-loading machine, has already been deployed
- said Vladimir Artyakov.
At the same time, he noted that tests of the 2S35 self-propelled artillery mount from the Koalition-SV complex will be completed this year.
Recall that the development of the ACS 2S35 "Coalition-SV" with a caliber of 152 mm was carried out by the Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute "Petrel". The gun is based on the platform of the T-90 tank. It is designed to destroy command posts, communication centers, artillery and mortar batteries, armored equipment, air defense and missile defense systems, as well as enemy manpower at a distance of up to seventy kilometers.
The start of state tests of the self-propelled guns "Coalition-SV" was postponed several times. By the beginning of the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the troops did not have a single such weapon. Although the need for a long-range howitzer in the troops is simply huge.
The fact is that on the battlefield, domestic artillery systems have to confront Western counterparts, which are noticeably superior to them in terms of firing range.
