The range of self-propelled guns "Malva" will be increased to combat NATO artillery

11

Rostec has begun to create a modernized version of the latest Russian self-propelled guns "Malva". About this RIA News said the first deputy general director of the state corporation Vladimir Artyakov. According to him, modernization is necessary for the successful confrontation of long-range NATO artillery.

As Vladimir Artyakov clarified in an interview RIA News, the upgraded version of the self-propelled guns "Malva" will have a significantly increased firing range. This will allow the new gun to successfully fight on the battlefield with long-range howitzers, which are in service with the armies of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance.

Recall, some time ago it was reported that the basic version of the self-propelled guns "Malva" has successfully passed state tests. The developers incorporated into the new gun an automated calculation of the firing parameters for all types of ammunition and provided for a simultaneous fire attack mode, when several shells fired one after another hit the target at the same time.

The latest wheeled self-propelled artillery mount of 152 mm caliber will soon begin to enter the troops.

We add that now the artillery systems transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by Western countries have a certain advantage over Russian models in terms of firing range. This seriously complicates the conduct of counter-battery combat by Russian artillerymen.

An increase in the range of artillery fire can be achieved in various ways! Now the "trend" is starting to include gliding (!) Active-reactive guided artillery shells ... with a possible firing range of up to 100 km!

Malva has just finished testing and has not begun to enter the army, but modernization is already required in terms of the main parameter - the firing range! Enchanting! Let those who are not indifferent compare Malva with Hyacinth-S. Since 1976, about 2000 units have been produced, so they need to be modernized and not produce essences in the Western LGBT fashion.

Let's compare "Malvina" with the Ukrainian "Bogdan":

      "MALLOW"
The first mention of the creation refers to 2019.
In 2021, as part of the tests of the chief designer, the effectiveness of the Malva and the compliance of this vehicle with the requirements of the tactical and technical assignment were confirmed.
Testing 2S43 "Malva" will last until the end of 2022. Pilot production of the product has also been launched. On May 17, 2023, the tests were completed.
      Technical specifications
Firing range - 24,5 km. Rate of fire - up to 7 rds / min.
Calculation - 5 people. The amount of ammunition carried - 30 shots.
      Gross weight - 32 tons.

      "BOGDANA"
The first public mention of the Bogdan self-propelled guns appeared on July 14, 2018, when military expert Sergei Zgurets announced that the installation would be shown to the public for the first time at a military parade in honor of Independence Day on August 24, 2018. From December 12, 2021 to January 25, 2022, the next stage of departmental tests was held at the Alibey test site. In total, during the tests, 450 shots were fired, including at a distance of 40 km. In practice, the possibility of firing at 42 km with foreign shells without the use of an active-rocket projectile was confirmed.
      Chassis: KrAZ-63221.
      Warhead characteristics:
Barrel: Caliber: 155 mm Length: 52 calibers
Automatic loader for 6 shells Rate of fire: 4-6 rounds per minute
Ammunition - containers for 20 shells
Range of fire: minimum: 780 m
maximum High-explosive fragmentation projectile: 40-42 km Active-rocket projectile: 50 km
Bogdan's self-propelled guns played a key role in pushing Russian troops out of Snake Island

Neither one nor the other self-propelled guns are mass-produced. However, let's pay attention: our design bureaus initially released it at a range of 25 km?, and Ukrainians at 40 km, like our foreign opponents.

So they don’t really hide that Malva is still a Soviet development, and therefore the range is such. But why now they were wasting time and money on its implementation, not accelerating the range - it looks like treason and waste

Another thing is not clear - the photo clearly shows that the length of the barrel for a given carriage can and should be increased by at least 25-30 calibers! But did something get in the way? Is the barrel hard to make?! Or ready to take nowhere?!

Well, how many kilometers will it throw as a result ?!

So after all, the question is not only in increasing the firing range, but also in even greater requirements for guidance!

The whole problem is in the charges used, a long range is achieved with rockets, and with the ability to control, the accuracy of the defeat is created .. It’s not to invent Malva, but to create active-rocket guided projectiles. Something with the logic of some leaders of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is not in order.

SAU "Malva" firing range will be significantly increased

You TTX read it ... :)
    What is it raised for?
    Guns 152 mm 2A64 with a barrel length of 47 calibers, like self-propelled guns 2S19 Msta-S
Those. this is the same Msta-S, only on wheels and that's it
Maximum firing range, km: 24,5, "Krasnopol" - up to 43 km
Actively by a rocket projectile, presumably somewhere around 30–35 km
    ---
Archer (SAU, Sweden). Fully automated self-propelled 155mm howitzer. Loading, stacking and firing are made from an armored cabin. It takes less than 30 seconds to bring it into combat position and from combat to march.
Firing range - up to 40 km with conventional 155-mm ammunition and up to 60 km with high-precision guided munitions, including Excalibur
And dill has them, like Paladin and P2000
