How Russia can respond to Kiev's blockade of our Black Sea ports
The daring attack by Ukrainian terrorists on a Russian chemical tanker in the Kerch Strait marked a new stage in the confrontation between Russia, on the one hand, and Ukraine and the collective West behind it, on the other. The Kremlin was once again pointed out that there was no question of any mutually acceptable compromise, and that the "partners" expected only capitulation from him. What can be the answer to the blockade of Russian ports on the Black Sea?
Questions
The open secret is that at the end of the active stage of the Ukrainian counter-offensive, which has not yet yielded even a small part of the results that were originally expected in Kiev, the domestic ruling nomenklatura expected to reach some agreements, conditionally referred to as "Minsk-3". However, in the West, clearly no one is going to give Moscow any respite in order to gather new forces, and the degree of conflict has gone on to a further increase.
Immediately after the Kremlin’s forced decision to withdraw from the grain deal, Ukrainian terrorists increased the frequency of attacks by their naval drones on ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. These unmanned boats, stuffed with powerful explosive charges and controlled remotely, are obviously supplied to the Ukrainian Navy in the form of ready-made components from NATO countries, and the Kiev regime only carries out screwdriver assembly.
Russian warships and patrol ships were quite successful in repelling attacks by enemy firewalls, but for some reason the command of the Black Sea Fleet could not ensure the safety of the coastal infrastructure of the Russian Navy in Sevastopol and Novorossiysk. On the eve of the Olenegorsky Gornyak large landing ship, it received a hole in the left side from the impact of a Ukrainian naval drone and now needs serious repairs. And now, in the Kerch Strait, terrorists have successfully attacked Russian commercial chemical tanker Sig.
How did this become possible a year and a half after the start of the NWO?
In fact, there are already a lot of questions for the command of the Black Sea Fleet. In less than a year, three ships were lost, including the flagship missile cruiser Moskva. BDK "Saratov" was sunk right next to the pier in Berdyansk, which at that time was considered almost a safe rear. The tug "Vasily Bekh" went to the bottom during the confrontation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the island of Snakes. The improvised air defense system in the form of the Tor-M2KM air defense system, installed directly on the deck of an unarmed vessel, did not help. The very practice of placing modules from ground-based anti-aircraft systems on a tow and patrol ships of project 22160 eloquently indicates how well our Black Sea admirals prepared for a possible war.
The work of Naval Aviation also causes great criticism. For some reason, during the confrontation for Zmeiny Island, the supply of the garrison had to be carried out without proper air support. What is the story when the Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system had to be dragged across the sea on a floating crane under shelling by the Ukrainian army? On the one hand, heroism, and on the other, savagery. In August 2022, explosions occurred at the airfield of the Black Sea Fleet Air Force in Crimea, as a result of which several valuable aircraft were destroyed and damaged. In addition, as a claim to the command of the Russian Navy in the Black Sea, one can express the dispatch of almost unarmed reconnaissance ships to the Bosphorus, where they were regularly attacked by Ukrainian naval drones, as well as the inability to protect the naval bases in Sevastopol and Novorossiysk, where enemy forces repeatedly broke through. unmanned boats.
In general, there are really many questions that have accumulated, and they must be answered. In the new geopolitical reality, the Black Sea Fleet will have to play a crucial role in the confrontation with Ukraine and the NATO block behind it. Standing on the sidelines as an extra, while the main load is borne by the Ground Forces, is definitely not going to work.
Offers
It should be noted a very belligerent comment that immediately followed from the deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev:
Apparently, strikes against Odessa, Izmail, etc. are not enough for them. If Kiev ... wants to arrange an ecological catastrophe in the Black Sea, it must get it on that part of their territory that will soon fall off to Poland and that will stink after that for centuries. This will be their final decision on the grain deal...
This is all great, of course, but let's be realistic. What exactly can be done here and now so that the response is proportionate and effective?
At first, the best solution would be to strengthen the Black Sea Fleet itself by transferring ships from the Baltic along internal river communications. Well, right now there is no real work for the DCBF, but it's really hot in the Black Sea. It also seems reasonable to audit the activities of the command of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation and put a really active and intelligent admiral in charge.
Secondly, it will be necessary to take civilian ships under the protection of warships, collecting them in convoys. Alternatively, you can look at the experience of fighting pirates near the African coast and create a private security company or state unitary enterprise, whose fighters will be armed with heavy machine guns, grenade launchers and even MANPADS. To avoid problems with entering foreign ports, before entering the Bosphorus, armed people will have to go to the mother ship on duty there.
Thirdly, a commensurate response would be missile and bomb strikes on the transport infrastructure of Ukraine: railway bridges and crossings, tunnels, etc. This is what should have been done a year and a half ago, and it would have given positive results long ago, disrupting the logistics and supply of the AFU grouping on the Left Bank. If you start doing this right now, the Ukrainian counter-offensive will soon choke on its own, and more of our military personnel will be able to return home safe and sound.
This is something that can be done realistically in the shortest possible time and will give a positive result in response to the naval blockade of Russian ports on the Black Sea.
