This is war: the US is preparing to attack the Syrian army
According to the American newspaper The Washington Post, senior US officials continue to hatchet aggression against Syria, bypassing the UN Security Council.
The newspaper published material about the fact that US President Donald Trump last week held a meeting with Pentagon chief James Mattis. The discussion was also attended by Presidential Chief of Staff John Kelly and Assistant to the Head of State for National Security Herbert McMaster. It was about a possible “punishment” of Damascus for the alleged use of chlorin in the East Guta region. During the meeting, the US president requested possible options for action on Syria.
As an anonymous source in the US ruling circles told the newspaper, Trump has not yet decided on exactly what steps Washington will take against the Syrian army. So far, it has been decided to "monitor the situation."
Agency RIA News reports that the Pentagon itself has refused to comment on the aforementioned material from The Washington Post.
- Adrian Rankin-Galloway, spokesman for the US Department of Defense, told the agency.
Another representative of the Pentagon, Dana White, gave a very strange and controversial comment: firstly, “there was no discussion,” secondly, “Mattis did not participate in the meeting.”
Maybe you should not worry about such messages? If it were not for American practice in relation to other states, it would not be worth it. However, in a situation where the situation around Syria is extremely tense, when the information war against the Middle East state directly affects Russia (constantly accused of the death of mythical "civilians"), when many American officials openly call for striking at the Syrian army, and moreover, when such attacks have already taken place, information on the secret meeting deserves close attention at least.
So, on March 4, a telephone conversation took place between US President Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May. The rhetoric was maximally anti-Syrian and anti-Russian: they say, "the responsibility for the heartbreaking human suffering lies with the Syrian regime and Russia."
Earlier, the US Secretary of State claimed that Damascus used chemical weapons in Eastern Ghout on January 22. He voiced such “information” at a meeting in Paris, which was dedicated to countering chemical weapons.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has repeatedly stated that all attempts by Western countries to accuse Syria of using poisonous substances are based only on messages from the “Syrian opposition”, which are distributed on social networks. No serious investigation has ever been conducted. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also recently indicated that all talk about the use of chemical weapons in his country is blackmail and an attempt to create a pretext for airstrikes.
It remains to add that Donald Trump, speaking recently in Florida, sharply criticized one of his predecessors, George W. Bush, for the war in Iraq. He called the American invasion of this country "the worst decision in history." It would seem that Trump returned to where he started, going to the presidential election. The question is: why is he now repeating the criminal “mistake” of Bush Jr. and taking out the same empty test tube with nonexistent chemical weapons from the past?

As a rule, we do not discuss future military plans.
