The Yak brand returns to Russian civil aviation

11

UAC announced the renaming of the Irkut corporation to Yakovlev. According to the official press release, the decision was made "taking into account the growth of the company's geography and competencies in the field of civil aviation." All necessary procedures for changing the brand will be completed within the next month.

At the facilities of Yakovlev Corporation, passenger liners MS-21 and Sukhoi Superjet are developed and manufactured. It is curious that at the initial stage of development, the MS-21 aircraft was called the Yak-242. Probably, this name will be returned to the liner. The renaming of the "Superjet" in accordance with the markings familiar in Russian civil aviation is not excluded.

The United Aircraft Manufacturing Company noted that the Irkut Corporation had already produced over 8 aircraft. And at a turning point in the context of the replacement of Boeings and Airbuses by domestic airliners, the return of the historical name has a symbolic meaning.

The legacy of A. S. Yakovlev is not only over 200 developed aircraft, but also the creation of a powerful aircraft manufacturing industry from disparate enterprises, their unification to perform tasks of national importance, as was the case during the Great Patriotic War. This experience resonates today, when our civil aviation industry is uniting in the face of new challenges and ambitious tasks. We must not only preserve, but also develop this heritage based on modern standards and the requirements of the time.

Andrey Boginsky, General Director of Irkut Corporation, said.

Yeah. Along with the new name, the delivery of new Superjets to companies was postponed for a year. Well, it’s not rushing to them ..

Well, it’s not rushing to them ..

Well, since they were framed for sanctions, there are no complaints against them.
People had every right to say - "the project was stopped due to force majeure, all claims are against Alfastratech."

They didn’t say, but rolling up their sleeves, they began to quickly complete the groundwork and prepare for mass production.
With the distribution of the production of components for new plants and workshops, from Voronezh to Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
To which, in general, you still need to somehow get equipment / pile from what has not yet been banned.

So, in the light of our foreign policy, the aviation industry in the coming years generally has complete immunity to criticism for the lack of intelligible positive developments. There will be nothing intelligible even in 5 years - well, that means the aviation industry is part of the price for 2022.

      Here's the news today -

preparatory work for the construction of the UEC complex was completed in Moscow ...
On the territory of the Salyut production complex, where new facilities will be built, the old buildings have already been dismantled, the areas have been cleared and prepared, and engineering work has begun. Design and estimate documentation was also developed, the appearance of new facilities was agreed and contractors were identified
Construction work will begin this year and be completed by 2025.

      Among other things

It will produce transmission equipment units for PD-14 aircraft engines, PD-8, VK-650 V, VK-1600 V, AI-222-25 and TV7-117 power plants.

Even if everything goes according to schedule, only in 2025 will they begin to produce transmission units for the PD-8 and the rest, and before that it is simply pointless to wait for aircraft (in normal serial numbers).

    Well, yes.
Think about rebranding, reprinting tons of letterhead and other waste paper.
Change signs, order new sets of uniforms for workers.
Well, what. It's a good thing.

In general, when they renamed the Yak to Irkut, no one was asked.
Now they are renaming Irkut to Yakovlev - and they don't ask anyone either.

An old trick - from rearranging the places of terms to pretend that the sum will change ...

So that's great! And for how many years it has not been clear what kind of names these are in the American enemy manner "MS" and Superjet! And to whom they belong to what design bureau and manufacturer!
Even in the names they tried to destroy and forget everything that was their own! Thank God, the long-awaited time is coming to remember and appreciate your own!

You need to do business, work, and not engage in fetishism for legendary names. In addition, changing the name of an organization is not a sign to change, there are so many documents that need to be redone, that a more worthy task could be found for this managerial enthusiasm.
